Can it be carried horizonaly on belt

In fact, due to the hole configuration, it can ONLY be attached for horizontal carry. Holes don't line up for vertical carry.

Is good for ranch work

The drop point blade & the curve is designed for maximum pressure that's applied to the cutting surface in the slash or thrusting then cutting through. Essentially this is a tactical self defense tool & the cryogenicaly hardened blade blank is remarkably thick & beefy. Quite simply, this blade would work well for just about any task but I would hate to see it relegated to nothing more than a rusty multipurpose farm tool. It's designed for survival and self-defense. It's a good blade even though it's California based co. has outsourced the manufacturing overseas. Also check out the one w/the tanto blade point which I think is a little larger w/a longer grip tang. The only thing about the drop point is the grip/tang is a bit short & I have big mitts.

Can this knife be used as a boot knife

Not sure how comfortable it would be, but yes it could. It is a pretty small knife and is much too small for my hands.

would you eat a steak with this?

I guess you can. But it’s more of a hunting knife than a steak knife.
