apples to apples
This game has been around for a really long time, but it is still one my grandson's favorites. Most all kids can play it and it's fun! Easy to understand, makes lots of fun conversation. Highly recommend it. The Disney version is of course filled with Disney characters. I am thinking of getting some different versions.

Classic Apples to Apples formula, with added cards from more recent Disney movies.
Apples to Apples has always been a great family game...it is the G-Rated Cards Against Humanity and is lots of fun. It even fosters reading and critical thinking for players. The basic formula of five red subject cards and a green card carries forward, only in this variation, a bunch of the more recent Disney movies are present. We have younger kids who are more familiar with movies like Zootopia and Inside Out than The Aristocats, so these cards help their knowledge base. Otherwise, it's the same old fun as any other Apples to Apples version. The price was good and there are many new cards in this new edition.

Fun for the whole family.
This is a fun game that can be played by a mix of adults and children. There are other versions but this Disney version is more kid friendly. Cards are drawn and each player in turn gets to be the judge by choosing a card from a certain pile and selecting a descriptive word. There are two words per card. Once that decision is made, the other players choose a card from their hand that they feel best exemplifies the word and places that card face down in the center. After each person plays a card, the cards are shuffled and the judge chooses which of those cards best fits the descriptive word. Whoever played that card wins the descriptive card. Players win the game by winning a set number of those cards. Okay, this is a simplistic description of the game but is the general idea. There's lots of laughs and family fun.

Classic Apples to Apples Fun with a Disney Twist, Appropriate Even for Preschoolers
I purchased this as a holiday gift for my "4 and 3/4" year old daughter. I'm familiar with the original Apples to Apples but she can't read well enough for the Junior version. We've been to Disneyland, watched a lot of Disney movies, and she has a great vocabulary (and loves puns). We played several rounds, disregarding the ultimate end-game to keep having fun. Family members less familiar with Disney can go by the words, and the younger of the group can go by the pictures, so it's a great all-ages kind of game. The game says 4-8 players but we've played with as few as 3, she's also tried to invent a game you play with 1-2 players (speed rounds, reversing the game, not rotating the judge).

New twists to a familiar classic
Our family enjoys the original version of this game, but I purchased the Disney version for my nieces. And yes, I've had the chance to play it with them... and while I myself prefer the original version of the game, I can safely say that the Disney version of the game is perfect for kids, and even adults who love Disney will get a kick out of it. While the rules are pretty much identical to the original flavor of Apples to Apples, it does add a few twists. For one thing, all the Red Apple Cards are, of course, Disney-related, and handily have pictures of the thing in question so kids can handily identify them. The cards don't just cover Disney movies and characters, however, but rides and attractions at the Disney parks, so kids who haven't been to the parks or aren't familiar with said attractions might be confused. Our family tends to play "house rules" that allow us to discard cards we're not familiar with without penalty, so we can bypass cards like this. The game also includes Poison Apple Cards, which aren't just a Snow White reference but are played in conjunction with a Green Apple Card to reverse the meaning of whatever adjective you're trying to match. For example, Happy would become Sad, Dirty would become Clean, etc. The issue with this is that a) not every adjective has a clear-cut opposite, and b) a lot of these opposites are already in the deck. Again, these cards can be bypassed or even removed from the deck ahead of time if you'd rather not play with this twist. This version of Apples to Apples may not get as bawdy and hilarious as the original version, but it's a great game for kids and a nice way to introduce them to a party favorite. And you could even mix the two games together if you wanted...

Pleasantly surprised! Great game
I am delighted with this "Used" game. There is a very small amount of damage to one corner of the box and 2 or 3 of the seals were cleanly cut. All cards inside are still wrapped. The plastic insert and directions are perfect. I bought a travel version of the game and we heard so much fun that we wanted the full version. This "used" item was about $2 more than the travel edition. I'll be looking more closely at used options from now on. I highly recommend this game, especially for family fun, for working on critical thinking and learning to express your thoughts.

Great Family Game
I bought this for our family to play over the holidays with my 5 yr old niece in mind. She loves Disney and the pictures from Disney theme parks, movies and Disney Channel shows made it easier for her to play without too much assistance. But more than just my niece loved the game. All 3 generations of my family (even the less Disney obsessed) enjoyed playing the game. The game made it easy for conversation and laughter to flow. The game was very family friendly. We look forward to playing it again over the holidays for many years to come.

Love this game!!
This game is a perfect family game. It would also be a perfect gift for anyone. We have been playing the original apples to apples and decide to get this one and it was not a disappointment. It was a great price for a great game and anyone could learn how to play because it is super easy to learn. If your family or friends loves to play games this is a must have for your house!!

So much fun, similar to Cards Against Humanity but for families! Kids 4, 5, 6, 8 and 10 loved it... we played with all ages including grandparents. Great way to encourage reading, and learning new words. Even the little ones understood just by the pictures. Many times the kids wouldn't know what a word meant, and we'd read the 2 other synonyms underneath. Highly recommend for Disney lovers!
