It fit great on my toilet, was the perfect size for my fractured knee that I couldn't bend, but do not think that the bars can be a full weight-bearing instrument to lean on as you get up. It only has one screw mechanism to hold it to the toilet so there is no other stability. So you have to already be able to get yourself up with just lightly using the bars, but you cannot use them if you put your full weight on them. It happened to me and the whole thing came off the toilet. I still recommend it wholeheartedly if you're already at the point that your legs are stable enough for you to get you up, and you just need the height and a little something to hold on to as you're getting up. Installed in seconds, gave me the height I needed until my knee could bend enough to use a lower toilet seat.

Doesn't stay tight on toilet bowl. It was easy to assemble and mount on the toilet bowl but it doesn't stay tight.

This was neither the cheapest, nor the most expensive toilet riser. But it was the one recommended by a family members physical therapist. After it was delivered to her facility, I saw that it was the exact same one that I had purchased years before for my spouses knee replacement. Easy to install, just tighten it on. Short or long term, this is the one to get. Safe and secure. I hope my experience will help you to make a decision about whether or not this particular riser is right for you or your loved one.

its a very nice product but we have 2 elongated toilets and it wouldn't set up tight on either one ... we couldnt use it because after knee surgery it was dangerous to sit on a wobbly loose seat...built very nice and would be very nice on a regular seat...

Very helpful after surgery

Just yesterday, I was congratulating myself on my choice of raised toilet seat for four main reasons: 1) The chair is soft and comfortable; 2) The arms are perfect- much preferable to the ones with the elongated, dangly arms and legs that seem to take up the whole room; 3) This seat is also very portable, light-weight and discrete. When I have guests over, I just quickly use the convenient, big screw at the front to undo it, place it in the shower and hose it down, ready for the next time. I can manage this even though I am in pain from having just had a total knee replacement; 4) The other ones are so ug-leeee! This one is as good as it gets (for what it is, haha).
