We bought this for our toddler for when his dad goes away for the army. It’s a cute book to read at night with him

My grandson is in the Army Reserves and I purchased this book for his sons 7 & 5. They loved the book because it was easy for them to understand why Daddy has to leave every month for a weekend. We wished we would have known about this book when he was deployed for a year. He is their only parent so separations are hard for them.

Very cute book with illustrations! Unfortunately I didn’t realize it was geared towards Army not AirForce. We wanted to reach our kiddos about his daddy’s branch. Must get for Army kiddos!

My Husband recently enlisted in the Army and has been away the past five months. My children are too young to understand why he isn't home so I bought this book as a Christmas gift that he could share with them while he was home Christmas day, and I could share again and again while he was gone.I was blown away and will recommend to every single military family! This book is super simple, not too many words on each page, not overwhelming in length. It keeps their attention and is easy to understand. I adore the comparison of their daddy to a super hero, and I appreciate that the book uses real words that are Army related (platoon, tank, rifle, combat boots, etc) It has been a favorite around here, a nightly bedtime read. Sometimes multiple times a night!! I think it has really helped me in explaining his absence and it has helped them understand better. Plus, now my eldest ( 2yrs 8 months) is saying how daddy is in the Army and being a soldier verses just thinking daddy is "at work". A great book and Definitely a great buy! So glad I purchased!

This little book is a quick read, easy to understand. Just a few words on each page. It is perfect for my 2.5 yo. It shows different things that his daddy is doing in the army and helps him comprehend on his level what daddy is doing. Would buy again and again.

My husband (Air Force) read this book to our girls tonight, ages 4 and 2. The two year old was a little hyper so she was climbing on and off the couch and not paying attention. The 4 year old liked the book but I'm not sure that she clearly understands. It is definitely geared more for Army BUT it I think it's a great book!! Clear and detailed pictures, simple and short sentences. It was perfect and I think will help explain what's happening after my husband leaves. Perfect book for small kids!

We bout this book for our 3 y/o son prior to my husband's deployment. This quickly became one of his favorites and helped him understand why military parents have to go away sometimes.

Was disappointed with the content and very short story I only hope the purchase price reflects what is being raised for a worthy cause if anything.
