Such a great book
I bought this book for my 14 year old who enjoys football and wants to play for college but doesnโt take initiative to even be known on the team. He always says someone is faster or stronger so I feel it holds him back tremendously. I try to speak to him but it goes in one ear and out the other. I was hoping getting a book related to the sport he liked on the topic I wanted to discuss would help. I bought a different book for my 17 year old daughter and 12 year old son that I felt would relate to them. Now I want all of us to read this book together Bc I think it would help each of them. 1st resolution for 2022 start Motivated Mondays (read book together)! It took me about an hour to read myself.

Teen's Game Plan for Life byt Lou Holtz
This book is so well written for teens, especially boys going through their teen life with no direction. I am a teacher of deaf and hard of hearing students, and I have used it particularly with the ones who are having self doubt and don't feel accepted. Coach Holtz lays it on the line--that it doesn't matter what kind of life or hurdles are thrown at you, you CAN overcome any obstacle to become a better person. It is an easy read, and it covers 5 basic principles with references to some interesting role models, who also had trouble with life decisions. I recommend this for parents or teachers of middle school/high school students, coaches and youth directors.

Parents and Educators pocket book for student athletes!
Lou Holtz's optimistic perspective for promoting successful student athletes is presented in an inspiring and humorous quick read. Don't even break out the highlighter for this book; each chapter and every character building message carries powerful strategies to help student athletes capture the essence of the why's and how's to be a successful person in school, on the playing field, at the workplace, and within our communities! This is a must read for parents and educators interested in promoting strong character for today's adolescents and, in turn, strong leaders for future generations!

Gift for my teenage daughter. Purchased a copy years ago for my son when he was in high school. Now a junior in college. He advised it was a good read and some great advice from Coach Holtz.

Good fast read; amazing life lessons
This should be a read for every teen. Even though there are 2-3 religious references the rest of the book is amazing and should be part of 13-16 year old curriculum.
