Keeps cold feet warm, no discoloration of the silk rug under it after 2.5 months of use
My feet get really cold in the winter and I purchased this heated mat as one more option to keep my feet warm. I like it! In about 4 minutes after turning on the carpet I can feel it through my slippers. It does not feel hot to touch yet there is enough heat to keep my feet warm. I like it better than Mastex electric booties which really get hot and I cannot keep them on for too long. The color of the mat is gray. The stock photo looked a little greenish to me but I was happy to see it has no green in it at all. The mat is 17.5" x 17.5". It is okay to use on top of the carpet and on top of wood. It does not get hot enough to damage either surface. When I was shopping for a heated mat I considered another mat but it could only be used on concrete or tile floor as it gets warmer and over time can discolor other surfaces.I have been using this mat for 2.5 months. It is placed on top of a silk area rug and I see no changes in the rug.I am quite pleased overall. Would I like to see any changes? Yes. I wish it was available in more colors so I can match it to my carpet better. I would like it to have a light to indicate that pad is on as a reminder for me to turn off at night or when I am not using it to save electricity. Despite these two minor things my feet are definitely happy.Ali Julia review

3.5 Years and Going Strong
I bought this product in November of 2019 at the recommendation of one of my Twitter followers when I started my first remote job. Aside from the time it spent in a moving truck across country, I've basically never turned it off. It has worked perfectly ever since. The only drawback (and I'm still giving it 5 stars) is that there's no real temperature control. That's easily remedied by wearing socks. Thick socks are better. But yeah, without socks it can get too hot for your feet. With socks, your feet are in a perfect oven. Whenever this one dies, I'm just gonna buy another one. This is well worth the price.

My husband and I met due to our mutual love of anime
My husband and I met due to our mutual love of anime. Complete and utter nerds? Yes, yes we are. But MUTUAL nerds so it all worked out. We stopped watching anime eventually (children have a habit of sucking the fun out of time consuming activities like staring at a screen for hours on end) but that doesn't mean that our love of many aspects of Japanese culture vanished. For example, we love udon. We eat with chopsticks at every opportunity. And we've both lusted after owning a kotatsu for YEARS. Honestly, in the decade and a half or so we've been together it's one of the things we've always wanted. But the buggers are EXPENSIVE and you need to have adaptors, fancy covers, places to sit your butt, etc. Then I discovered that you can sort of fashion your own.Look, we live in the midwest, right? It gets friggin COLD here and since winter's been too drunk to go home till May these past few years, it feels like it we've finally embarked on that threatened newest ice age. This fall we put together our kotatsu using this mat and a couple other supplies and holy friggin cow, this thing is amazing. Now, granted, I know in a "true" kotatsu you don't have a heater underneath, but since I got a very low wattage heater for the top and we're using a fleece blanket topped with an (Amazon basics cheapo) king-sized comforter, I wanted to get the most bang for my warming buck.We have cold laminate floors. This thing is awesome to lay your legs on while the other warmer does the heavy lifting. I'd be lying if I claimed I didn't claim the footwarmer part of our makeshift kotatsu at every opportunity. I know, I'm a terribly mother. I make the children put on socks. But I'm planning on buying a second one for them to share. So, yeah, worth it.

Not the old Tri-Lite Cozy Toes... but great customer service
My previous Cozy Toes lasted me over ten years, with daily use during the winter months, and had a six feet cord with the switch in the middle so I could place the switch (with two heat settings) on my desk and didn't need to dive under my desk every time I wanted to turn it on or offThis Cozy Toes is very different and not from the same company. The reason it didn't work for me was that1.) The description/picture is wrong: they show a white cord, which I needed) but the one I got has a black cord.2.) The cord is much too short. From the question section I got the info that the cord would be 6 ft long, however it's 4 ft 7 in.3.) The switch is very close to the plug, so there is no way to have the switch on your desk.4.) The heat generated is fairly low, and there is only one setting; not warm enough for my cold floor.Positive: customer service is excellent, they were very easy to work with and even though it didn't work for me I'm a happy customer.

Great for keeping my footsies warm - still going strong
I bought this mat 2.5 years ago and have really appreciated having it, as my circulation is terrible and - even with socks and down slippers on carpeted floor - I need this.A couple of things to note for this review:- Mine looks a little different than the picture shown (Nov 2020); my cord is black.- I did eventually get a dimmer cord, to control the heat level (thanks to another Reviewer).- My biggest complaint, which isn't that big, is that the On-off switch on the cord is about 2 feet from the mat, which means I always have to bend down under the desk to turn it on or off. Ideally, the switch would be placed 'further' on the cord, so it could be accessed more easily (e.g., on top of a desk).(Another Reviewer suggested putting it on a timer, which would alleviate the on-off need); I just haven't added that to the plethora of cords/gadgets yet, and I'm not sure I'm keen to have it on when I'm not in my home office. Maybe that means a smart plug is in order???)

100% Happy
My husband works from home and his home office is over the garage and the floor is very cold. He has a standing desk and even with socks and shoes on his feet were still cold. He now has nice and warm tootsie and is a happy man.

Muy funcional
El tapete genera un calor moderado que mantiene tibios tus pies. El interruptor es muy adecuado porque así evitamos tener que estarlo conectando y desconectando. Hasta ahora ha trabajado como yo lo esperaba.

Does as claimed but lots of issues
I bought this for my wife for Christmas and set-up was easy and it did heat well. Until it didn't. It broke last week so it basically lasted a month. I can't speak for everyone, but for a product at this price point, this is not acceptable. Very disappointed in this product as during the month it did work, it was amazing.Other things to be aware of: It does not have an auto shut off and does not have temperature settings - things that I will be looking for in a replacement.
