seems like regular hand lotion- no added benefits
I tried this cream on a number of different skin issues- eczema, a scrape on my hand, and the skin around my nose that was chafed after a bad cold. It did absolutely nothing for the scrape or the eczema. It did feel nice on my chafed nose, but no more so than any regular hand lotion would have felt. I didn't notice that it did anything to hasten the healing process at all.Given that this seems to be no better than the most generic hand lotion, I don't see a reason to purchase this over a much cheaper option. However, I will say that it has a very mild scent that doesn't last (good if you're sensitive to smells) and the tube it comes in is easy to use and doesn't make a mess.

It's okay but not what I would call a first aid cream
First off, as others have noted, the cream is not antibacterial. On the other hand it does seem to relieve itching which is nice if you have that nagging itchy sore or scab you keep scratching. So that part is fine. But to call this a first aid cream is stretching it a bit.

Seems another nice addition to skin care products
This product comes advertised as special because of the reported healing properties of Calendula, which makes up 10% of the product. One of our reviewing team tried it on skin recovering from blue light therapy (by a dermatologist), and one of us has chronically abraded skin from job-related hand washing. We also tested it on areas of local dermatitis on our dog (also an unpaid past Vine tester!). It worked nicely, we liked the texture, and it didn't stain our cotton clothing (or our polyester dog bed!). Yes, it worked well over our roughly week-long period, but so did a competing homeopathic product, a specialty moisturizer made from another plant, some commercial argan oil, an expensive and a common OTC moisturizer, and simple petroleum jelly (although we had to be careful with the jelly's greasiness, and the cheaper moisturizer didn't seem to last as long). Note: the Argan oil actually seemed notably better subjectively, but was significantly more expensive. The inactive ingredients of the Boiron product (which make up 90% of the cream) seem similar to those you'd find in other moisturizers. I'm a bit dubious about a product coming from a company that says it is "The World Leader in Homeopathic Medicines" (how is that qualified or measured?), but we were happy to use it and will consider buying more when this runs out.As with any OTC products, our experience (and that of nearly any other single reviewer) is anecdotal, our period of use was limited, and your experience may differ from ours.

Cool and soothing on skin
I've used calendula for skin irritations and skin healing in the past, and it does seem to help. This product is for "cuts, scrapes, chafing, minor burns, sunburn." The product is cool and soothing going onto my skin, so I can see that it would feel nice on sunburns and maybe insect bites. I'm currently in winter, so I tried it on some dry, starting-to-crack skin, and it healed up quickly. I'll try to update this review as I try it for other uses.I appreciate that this product is parabin-free. The active ingredient is calendula officinalis. The inactive ingredients are: alcohol, caprylyl glycol, carbomer, cetyl palmitate, EDTA disodium, glycerin, lauroyl macrogolglycerides, pegoxol-7 stearate, purified water, sodium hydroxide, sorbic acid, 1,2-hexanediol.From the box: "For external use only. Avoid contact with eyes. DO NOT USE if you are allegic to Calendula officinalis or to this product's inactive ingredients."

Gentle And Soothing
A quality skin soothing ointment. It helps with rashes, mild burns, itching and dry skin. No harsh chemicals or medications, and it naturally moisturizes. A natural treatment, I'm happy to use something that doesn't contain hormones or other medications. A great first line of defense for minor skin related woes.~ Kort
