Follow the instruction on setting the feeding schedule.
It was hard to open battery compartment. The 1/4 cup ratio is not correct was easy. But I still love it, so much gonna buy a second one for my other pet.

Works if you don't turn 'em off
Works well enough. I don't like the garbled recording. It's extremely low quality and quiet, not even as loud as the food being dispensed. It repeats 3 times and I don't repeat commands so that's also disappointing. Comes out slow so my fast eater doesn't have a chance to choke. My 2 55lb dogs are left alone 2 nights a week and these saved me a dogsitter bill so they serve their purpose. (Hard to synchronize them.. about 30 second apart is the best I could do. even tho the time and clock are the same)Additionally, when I am home I'll turn them off so I can feed them but when I go to leave I have to reprogram them all over again.

Peace of mind.
We bought this item to feed our barn cat when we are absent. It works as advertised.

Don’t Buy This!
I got this auto-feeder in October and it has already quit working. It started beeping, one beep followed by two beeps, so I changed the batteries. It didn’t stop beeping. I turned it off for several days, tried again and it still beeped so I let it beep for a few days. It finally stopped beeping for about a month, then it started beeping again yesterday. I changed the batteries again. Now nothing will set. What a waste of money! It was pretty funny to watch my cat feed herself, though, although I am pretty sure that is not what “auto-feeder” means.

Dispensing not accurate
Set on 3 portions, as our diabetic dog must have 3/4 cup of Science Diet twice a day. But, the 3 on this unit only gives him 5/8 cup of food each time.

Works great for our dog
Very durable. Use for our dog when we're away from home.

Not for smart dogs
This thing is pretty great, however, my border collie mix figured it out in about a week. He figured out that if he stuck his nose by the chute, he could use his tongue to flip the blade and more snacks come out. He’s very pleased with himself, but it’s annoying because now we have to make sure he isn’t sneaking off to get snacks. Other than that it is fantastic! We are able to sleep in on the weekends because he gets fed at 6am without us having to get out of bed!!
