A fantastic and worthwhile initial outlay
I read mixed reviews about this product and bought one with some trepidation. However, having bought one, I have absolutely no regrets. A fantastic and worthwhile initial outlay. No longer do I need to replace batteries with regular frequency, so a cost effective solution too to minimising waste. The overall design of the product compliments the Apple keyboard perfectly and the cradle that the keyboard rests in and is charged through in no way impacts upon the usability.Needless to say it uses a USB port and this does largely go against the Apple design concept of using a wire free connection. Also with the magic charger being charged through the power supply to the computer, if you turn your computer off, the internal battery of the Magic Bar charger doesn't charge. At the time of writing this, I am more than happy to recommend this product and have not experienced some of the technical issues others have mentioned in their reviews.

I was so impressed I bought a second one
Don't you just hate it when you are in the middle of a document, and your keyboard or trackpad decides to stop working because you have ignored all the messages about your battery running low.Hopefully those days are over. The Mobee Bar Charger is a neat aluminium bar and replacement battery pack that you install in either your keyboard or trackpad instead of the 2 AA batteries. The bar is connected to your iMac or MacBook via a USB cable so whist your device is slotted into the bar ... it is charging.I have had mine for a few days now, the battery pack was near fully charged on delivery, and so far, my keyboard shows 100% charge in System Preferences.I bought a second one to use with my TrackPad ... at the moment, the Bar and Charger are being sold on Amazon cheaper than just buying the replacement battery pack.Only time will tell how long the batteries will last, but at the moment, it is an elegant solution, and much better than chasing down the recharger, spare batteries (only to find they have run down anyway).I'm happy at the price I paid ... I would have thought twice at the original asking price tho.

Obviously it would have been great not to receive a faulty product
This arrived today. Installed the batter into the keyboard and plugged it in. However the red power light kept blinking and it seemed not power was getting to the keyboard. Looked at the box to see what red blinking meant. The box says that there was a device failure.I was going to return the product but decided to just go ahead and try and fix it.I opened up the battery casing, removed two generic blue coloured batteries and replace them with some aaa eneloops. Put the case back on and plugged the keyboard back in. Voilà, the keyboard powered on and charges perfectly. Also the power in the keyboard is reported as 100%. I see some reviews saying their batteries are only reporting 80% when fully charged.Obviously it would have been great not to receive a faulty product. But now I have switched the batteries I have a device that works great, and I know down the road I can swap out the eneloops for a new set. However that shouldn't be for a while yet, as the eneloops are supposed to be good for 2000 cycles, which is a lot more than the 500 cycles the standard batteries have. I also like the eneloops as they don't self discharge as much, so I won't need to charge them as often anyway.

Tried in three different charging contexts + new keyboard + returned/re-ordered ....but...refuses to work!!
Sorry, but didn't work for me. The first one i ordered i tried via a USB on a Mac 2010, and a USB on a Mac Mini 2013. Didn't charge after the first 5 minutes, with no charge in the battery. I then charged it via a plug USB and again, no charge and flashing red after @5 mins. I then took the battery out of the keyboard and charged it in isolation. Again, same thing with red flashing lights.Next, I thought it may be the keyboard. I bought a new keyboard and immediately tried it all again but to no avail. So, thinking it was obviously a lemon, I returned it FOC at a Collect point nearby and ordered another one.The new charger arrived promptly again and once more...did not work...despite it being charged via three different ways. What a shame; However, I can vouch that the Mobee Magic Mouse version DOES work in all of the Mac contexts and is awesome.

Very limited battery life. But IT CAN BE FIXED!
Very limited battery life. Not sure if the specific item was faulty or an old stock with a dying battery, but it does not last a full day's work (although advertised as 10-day duration).UPDATE: 10 months later battery is completely dead and i am back to traditional batteries. Waste of money.UPDATE #2 READ THIS!Before I threw it away I tried one simple solution. I opened the battery part it with a very small screwdriver and I discovered that it is powered by two pitiful AAA batteries. It's only natural that these batteries die off too soon if left uncharged for some time.I replaced them with two decent rechargeable batteries and problem was solved! And you do not need to spend money on replacement battery as this too will include the same lame AAAs.Pay attention while repositioning the new batteries as they should be placed on the opposite halves to ensure that the positive contact is not damaged (you will know what i mean when you open it).

Works great for me!
Despite all the negative reviews, I found this to be nothing short of excellent. It worked straight away with my wireless keyboard and charged up to solid green overnight on the first night. I was so pleased, I bought another two, one for my trackpad and the other for a colleague's wireless keyboard. All have worked just as advertised. It is true that the re-charge is not that fast (overnight from 40% to full is fine) but in the real world that is no drawback at all. I just put one or the other onto the charging bar every two or three days (whenever I remember!) and, so far, have never gone below 40%. I'm very happy with my purchase - especially at the price I pad for them.

Could be good!
Can only give 3 stars at the moment. Great delivery, looks good quality and it does charge but seems to take a long time to do so.Once I have had it a few weeks I will give an update. It sure does look the part and I am really hoping that it lives up to its appearance. It was only £10 so well worth the punt.
