Yes the bristles are plastic very cheaply made brush it broke the second time I used it

is this a good brush for thick hair? is the brush good for any length of hair?

I believe this brush is really good for thick hair. My natural hair gets very tangled and its easy for me to brush it when its wet. I don't brush too hard but it gets the job done. My normal hair is short and I have weave in right now. It works pretty good for both length. That's my opinion though. I hope this helped.

Is the back solid black? Flat or curved in or out?

Is solid black opaque and is flat in the back side!!! Wonderful brush for any type of hair.
