DAT Prep Plus 2019-2020

I studied through Kaplan my first round taking the DAT. That was my greatest regret. I learned the book from cover to cover, but when I got to the exam it was a whole different game. Kaplan's material was oversimplified and the practice questions were elementary in comparison to the actual exam. When I wrote a review on their website, they said they'd only process a full refund if I took off my negative review - that should tell you quite a bit about Kaplan. Avoid Kaplan and instead go through the forums on how to appropriately study for such a serious exam. Good luck!

Gives the most basic review of all the review companies. The review questions are not the multiple choice questions of the exam, but rather more of short answer (see photo) so it depends on if you want practice and recall, or more of a thinking review unlike the test. Over the years and through several disciplines, I've found Kaplan to have the greatest number of errors in their books and this is still true with this copy. I think there are better resources out there, but this is fine as a supplement.I CANNOT find the practice tests anywhere. They aren't in the book and are not available online. That's why i bought this book but they aren't there and easily accessible.

I only had two weeks to prep for the DAT in between semesters and this worked for me. If you are the type who can miss class and still do well by personal study from a textbook this is a good option. I do well with textbooks and this worked for me but i also used other materials. (crack the DAT PAT), and (topscore practice tests).This book is a great start to your studies if you have the time to read. It took me MANY crammed hours to get through it and i took notes as i went. If you have a couple months until you take the test this would be a good start in my opinion. Good luck with your DAT prep.

Not well explained, incorrect information.

Still using the product. Easy to use, and understand.

We bought this 8th edition and checked out the 7th edition from the library to compare the differences. Turns out the two major differences are:1) the 8th edition is black and white only (including all the graphics); the 7th edition has color graphics, which can be helpful when studying scientific concepts.2) The printed material in both editions is almost verbatim the same. The difference: the 8th edition uses a slightly bigger spacing between lines, which makes the book more pages.Bottom line: Buy the 7th edition. It's cheaper and better quality. Kaplan downgraded the graphics and re-used the material from the 7th edition just so they could release a "New" 8th version and charge more money for it.

Fast delivery and great price

I wish there was a refund option on this because it claimed to be great for the Canadian DAT as well. Half of the book is irrelevant and there is barely anything online. I expected the PAT section in the book to be there but it isn't. The little PAT section there is online is irrelevant for the cDAT because you write on paper, which makes a huge difference.

I spent months studying from this book only to get wrecked on the actual test by content this book doesn’t even cover. Barely any useful practice for reading comprehension or perceptual ability either. All around disappointed and I wish I could get my time and money back.

This book is ok, it has all the information needed to write (the Canadian, in my case) DAT. However this text book had no practice questions for either biology or general chemistry in the text book. And the online content was embarrassing, three 19 slide workshops and three quizzes on spectroscopy, solubility, and equilibrium. That's it. What a joke. I'll recommend it if you need more PAT practice or RCT practice or practice tests but otherwise buy the Princeton review Cracking the DAT!

Absolutely necessary for the DAT, studying on my own went great with this book.
