Very helpful insight from a very real person
There is, evidently, more to making and growing money than the mechanical steps taught in school. And there is more to wealth than having a lot of money. This author provides practical advice - yes. But he also bares his soul in order to share how prosperity is not merely a matter of growing finances - but more of a deep inner attitude of success - and it lives in the core of who we are - specifically who we are in God.What I have gotten out of this book so far is that a prosperous soul can be cultivated - no matter what kind of crud we have in our past. I plan to re-read it because the information is so valuable. Others have written on this topic. But none have this author's background or personal experiences, which help us to realize that his success is possible for all of us.I've learned from this book that the prosperous soul has the ability to gain sustainable wealth in every area of their life. This is a sound book, written from sound, biblical principles. And it is engaging and personal. I highly recommend it. "Beloved, I desire that in all things thou shouldest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospers." 3 John 1:2 (DARBY)

excellent book on stewardship and supernatural provision
I received an advanced reading copy of this book from Library Thing in exchange for a review.Had I realized what was in store for me on its pages, I would have read this book much sooner. Stephen De Silva writes the truths I have been needing to find, confirming some things I have understood but haven't seen or known how to set in motion. He makes it very clear about prosperity and the lack of it - and why - especially dealing with the spirits of Poverty and Mammon.Chapter titles are:PurposeTrouble With MoneySpirit of PovertyTrust and FaithDreamingBound in SpiritSpirit of MammonDominionThe Art of PurposeThis is an excellent book, easy to read and understand. Stephen De Silva teaches biblical truth in a comfortable, sincere manner, explaining the spiritual problems that underlie financial ones. It is not the secret to immediate gratification, but lays out the steps to understanding the financial benefits explained in the Bible and how to get there. For anyone struggling to handle their finances, or simply wanting to know how to live in the provision of God, this book shows the way. Money and the Prosperous Soul is also very suitable for group study.

Thoughtful, solid material
The book I bought was used and had some highlighting but that did not distract me at all and I am doing my own underlining. It is a book that you read a little at a time and do the exercises that are in there. Savor it as you read it.

Bullseye! Right on the Money!
Bulls-eye! Stephen De Silva nails it "right on the money" with Money and the Prosperous Soul. Don't think for a minute you don't need this book; you do, everyone needs this book, from the beginner to the savvy investor. Are you worried about your bank accounts, your retirement, your state's budget or the country's economic decline? Follow the book chapter by chapter and you'll gain exactly what you need to BECOME the solution. Here are the explanations and answers we have all been looking for: how to live well and flourish while gaining influence to stimulate a financial turn around that will stabilize and sustain economies. Money and the Prosperous Soul INSTILLS DESIRE to do your part, explains WHY you must succeed, and presents a clear and fresh perspective on HOW to achieve your goals. The last step describes exactly what happens when you marry your dreams with your purpose to unlock your own personal blessings. So buy one for yourself and one for a friend. The transformation begins the moment you open the book.

Empowering, Relevant, and Refreshingly Void of Nonsense!
THIS BOOK IS PHENOMENAL. Some Christian books about finances either push believers to strive for millionaire status while others shun the "prosperity gospel" and encourage a life free from any instruction on finances. This book provides neither. It is a refreshing, biblically sound approach to why we need to steward your finances well. The writer keeps Jesus as tge main thing and provides powerful illustrations to support his perspective. I am an avid reader. This book, hands down, is my favorite on the matter. Invest in your life and buy another for a friend.

After reading 10 pages, I felt that it is ...
After reading 10 pages, I felt that it is very uncomfortable reading this book although I believe in God. When I read book, looking for what the author is saying in his own words and how he is saying. In this book it is very difficult find these areas. Anyway, in stead of quit reading this book, for me, there is an alternative ways to read this book. Whenever seeing Joseph on a page, paste my name, Morrie, over Joseph. Jacob and Paul will be pasted with my Buddy XX, Buddy XXX. Church people may say Holy Mackerel! Anyway, In this way, the author's approach does not offends me. Robin Williams may say that is a roll play at Juilliard, School of Art.My additional comments is that the author, CPA, is assuming that everyone can visualize (imagination to picture our dreams), however, I disagree with his assumption. Since he is CPA who does not assume and get data which is the most current and accurate and reasonable data from his clients. The author is forgetting the professional spirit in this book.My conclusion is that the author is CPA who is obligated to do the professional conduct for the public. In my opinion, this book should be kept only in his church and his firm for free. Morrie, California.

A book full of hope and purpose!
A great introduction to a God who is for us, who knows us because he made us and who has a challenging but rewarding and fulfilling purpose for our lives - a purpose that will result in us not just receiving but going on to use what we receive to fulfill the divine and unique purpose for which he has called us - to bless people, to bless society and to bless nations.

Srephen K De Silva will rock your world as you engage with the truths in this book
Steve De Silva is mighty man of God, I did his Prosperous Soul class at Bethel Church in 2010 which was absolutely amazing, this book is the main spine for that teaching. Steve has great revelation from the Lord in how to live victoriously and steward our finances effectively. Working though this book will empower you to embark upon a journey with the Living Lord Jesus. This book will bring you healing, wisdom, and insight

Thought provoking
Interesting Christian framework read, linking money issues with the condition of heart and mind. The author is candid about his own journey and gives many opportunities for the reader to explore his or her own thinking without dictating rigid "guidelines".
