A good book to generally know about knit world. Good pictures with text. But it’s better for beginners no too much deeper modern knit machines story.

This is one for the reference shelf if you design your own hand-knits ... The topics in here are spot on if you'd like to move into professional designer status ... or just want to make yourself a knitted item that is truly your own. Love this book.

Nothing to do with knitting
I got this hoping to learn how to design my own knitted items. This book talks about knitted textures...but only that. Just lists them. It is a huge book full of utterly ridiculous clothes that no normal person would ever wear. If you want to design runway clothes, then be my guest.
