Much better than the average phone clamp and love that it was included at such a nice price. Would recommend the Grip Tight Pro as a mount for tripods as well.

Everything listed in the description about this product is true! I have had this product for a couple of months now and it does the job of holding my phone and/or camera amazingly. Love the stability, light weight and sturdiness it brings for video recording and taking pics!

In all honesty, this is aimed mainly at those that vlog, and for that, I cannot recommend it enough. If you have one subscriber or thousands, this will go a long way for making the carrying of your camera/phone far easier as well as being able to set it down and get a ton of great footage from nearly any angle you can think.

So I kept this. But I am not likely to use the actual gorillapod legs. The phone mount is fantastic and includes a cold shoe to attach a microphone or video light. It will detach from the legs and can mount on any tripod or ball head etc. The legs look just like the more expensive Gorillapod legs but are very flimsy and do not, in my experience, hold a solid position very well. There is no way to adjust the angle of the phone unless you bend the legs to point the phone where you want it. Sounds easy in marketing terms but try it in practice while also trying to keep your horizon level at the same time it is a pain. And if you get the angle of the legs wrong your phone falls over. Hmm. If I did this again I would buy the phone mount and put it on a proper travel tripod with a ball head.

This was a Xmas gift to my adult daughter who is joined at the hip with her phone... She absolutely loves this thing. It is interesting watching her explore its uses... Seem very versatile... Though I suspect it will boil down to one common use at some point once she has explored the possibilities...

Imagine an octopus trying to take a picture of you. That's what using this thing is like.

This is very well made and I especially appreciate that there is no spring to mount the phone, which can be a drag. It is adjustable with a screw, and works really well. I'm very happy with this and look forward to putting it to good use.

Update 2021: The Grip Tight head that the phone mounts to broke until minor weight. The part that screws onto the tripod is made of plastic, and that broke in little pieces. This now makes about 3 or 4 different Joby products that have broken after just a few uses. PLEASE do your homework on reviews here and avoid everything from this company, they are all poorly designed and highly overpriced for what you get. Had the smaller magnetic leg version of this, and lost tension after one use. Noticed after using this model after about 3 times, i'm losing tension in some of the joints. With the smaller version, this caused the tripod to collapse, and i know this is where this version is headed. There is no way to maintain and increase tension on the joints, so the more you use it, the greater the possibility it will bend in and not maintain weight. Joby needs to design the joints where you can increase tension via screw or something similar. Definitely disappointed in both their tripods I'm using a fixed tripod i bought on here for $12 in it's place and plan to give the Joby one to someone for free with the caveat not to rely on it long term. Cant return this because i threw the box away after i bought it.

You know the old saying: "you get what you pay for"? That is certainly the case in my view with the Joby products. I've tried the "look-a-like" versions and I have found them to be lacking in comparison. The iPhone grip is top-notch and I have no problems using both my iPhone XS Max and iPhone 6s in it - either in their cases or not. The tripod is strong and I also use it with my Canon 700D DSLR (with the kit lens - so not too much weight up front). The cold shoe on top of the clamp is useful for external microphones too (I use the Rode VideoMic Pro). A great, flexible setup for iPhone videographers and vloggers. Highly recommended.

Great product. I was looking for a tripod to use with my phone and potentially a camera one day. It’s great to have multiple tilt options and to have my phone in either landscape or portrait mode. There’s multiple ways you can manipulate the legs too which is a great bonus from a traditional tripod. Definitely get what you pay for with this!

A well built gorilla pod for your smart phone. Doesn’t let your phone fall of because of the well mastered grip for the phone. Joby is one of the leading brands to make tripods and other accessories for cameras. The product is well worth its amount and definitely should buy it
