"The generation weaned on the Marvel Universe will find much to love in OโConnorโs 12-book series." โ New York Times George OโConnorโs vibrant, kinetic art brings ancient tales to life in the New York Times Bestselling series The Olympians. This fusion of super-hero aesthetics and ancient Greek mythology is perfect for fans of Percy Jackson! Thrown from Mount Olympus as a newborn and caught by Thetis and Eurynome, who raised him on the island of Lemnos, Hephaistos had an aptitude for creating beautiful objects from a very young age. Despite his rejection from Olympus, he swallowed his anger and spent his days perfecting his craft. His exquisitely forged gifts and weapons earned him back his seat in the heavens, but he was not treated as an equalโhis brothers and sisters looked down at him for his lame leg, and even his own wife, Aphrodite, was disloyal. Witness Hephaistosโ wrath in God of Fire as he creates a plan thatโll win him the respect he deserves Review: Amazing book - I think the pictures were so very intricate because of the very small details and great drawings. The best part I think about it is the graphics it looks so very detailed and cool read this amazing book (TM, Age 9) Review: Great graphic novel - Kid's review: I gave 5 stars because I love stories about Greek gods. I liked everything about the book, nothing that i disliked. I would recommend to everyone 7+.

Enjoyable!
I've bought every graphic novel from this author and this collection for my teenager daughter. She loves them and became kind of an "expert" in Greek mythology thanks to them. I also read them once in a while and I think they're funny without betraying the seriousness of the myths.

Hephaistos highlights with a dose of Prometheus
Enjoyed this rendering of the major Hephaistos' myth stories. The artwork was top notch and the story flow seemed better in this one. Had a bit much about Prometheus in it as well, but perhaps that is more of a preview of upcoming work perhaps.

Well worth the wait
This penultimate addition to the olympians series is absolutely fantastic! Detailing Hephaestus' history while simultaneously intersplicing it with Prometheus' story, O'Connor makes you feel for Hephaestus who isn't given a good lot in life. It's a brilliantly written book with stunning art and fantastic characters. If you're a fan of Greek myths you will enjoy reading this series. If you're a fan of Greek myths AND comics, you NEED to read this series.

Mythically good
While many attempt to tell tales of Hephaistos/Hephaestus, few have ever done him the credit that George O'Connor does. Wonderfully penned and brilliantly illustrated (as always), this 11th installment in The Olympians is a true work of art and mythically good!

The Ultimate Penultimate
I have enjoyed every edition of George O'Connor's OLYMPIANS series. His retelling of Greek mythology mixes in the best elements of Homer and Jack Kirby and the result are stories with pathos, humor, and a crackling energy that makes these gods all too human.

Great new edition to a loved series.
One of my favourite installments.

Prometheus
I loved the book, but I feel sorry for Hephaestus and Prometheus. But in the myths the titan was released later and Hephaestus in the end earns everyone's respect even though I would have liked Aglaia to appear.
