Nicky Epstein Knitted Flowers

I bought a 50 color assortment pack of yarn to use with this book! This will get me through many snowbound evenings.

All the flowers are very pretty and make-able. Each flower can be knitted up fast while sitting watching TV with family. Yes, this book is a good one. I hoped that it had many felted flowers but there are several felted flowers that are quite nice. I have already knitted a few of them they turned out very good, the direction are easy to follow.

. . . and the garden is blooming! Nicky's collection of knitted & felted flowers is amazing! Creativity is brimming on every page! I wondered how many flowers could one knit - well, hundreds! The photographs are inspiring and beautiful. Quick to knit; the patterns are fun and easy to follow. Whether you are an accomplished knitter, or barely past your first scarf, you'll be amazed at the flora you can create. (Note: new knitters, you may need a little extra help on some projects, but you'll grow new skills) I have been searching for a book full of feminine floral embellishments, and this is it! I am going to have flowers on everything this year. Most of the flowers could be added to gifts and packages for an extra special touch. It would have been helpful to see more of the flowers in use, but I guess Epstein leaves the door open for us to find our own creative ideas. Many yarns seem easy to find or substitute, plus there is a listing in the back of where to buy from the less common companies. This is MUST-HAVE for your knitting library!

This book has a great selection of knitted flowers. Some of these are felted, some just plain knitting, & some i-cord, etc. There is a large varity of styles & yarn used to create these flowers. There are colored pictures of all of the flowers. Great to use as decorations on your knitted clothes, handbags, etc.

I own several of Nicky Epstein's knitted embelishment books and find them very useful and informative. This particular book has fabulously clear, full page color photos of each flower.The instructional text is very concise and easily followed.

It was okay. Too much felting.

There are some very beautiful patterns in the book and I look forward to making them.

I bought this together with another book (100 flowers to knit and crochet). This one arrived first. Nice photos and clear instructions,the book is divided into sections of flowers made by knitting, felting, petal constructed etc.. however some of the patterns are not particularly attractive in my opinion. I much prefered the other book which has far more to choose from and the flowers in it are recognisably differing species such as poppies, fusias, lavender and many more. However as the title suggests it's not just knitted and you would need to be able to follow very simple crocheting instructions.

I wish there was a higher star rating to give this book. It's wonderful.I'm not a great knitter. I can't knit adult size clothes, or anything on circular needles. But these flower patterns are amazing. They're so simple, and the results are glorious. I've got way too many odd ends of yarns and single balls stashed in odd boxes, and this is the perfect way to use them up.The finished flowers are so lovely I've ended up sticking them all over the place. They're on bags, on coats, on scarves and generally all around the house!This is probably the most loved knitting book in my little collection.

Yet another excellent book by Nicky Epstein. What a great way to embellish garments, hats, bags or practically anything you so desire with these cleverly designed flowers. There are some beautiful projects from a simple flower to a cardi wrap adorned with a flowered edging, and many more projects. The instructions are easy to follow and the photographs are gorgeous.

Interesting flower pattern book. I have not been able to use it yet ,but I definitely will.I can recommend this book.

a nice book with beautiful flowers to make. suggested yarns are a little tricky to find and pricey, i had hoped they'd suggest a yarn maybe but then comment how alternatives might be a good idea too. i think if you source the exact yarns for these projects you'll make some beautiful peices. i think the book will just be part of my collection rather than something i pull out to use often.
