A larger more solid PWS
I've been utilizing AcuRite personal weather station's for a few years now. My biggest gripe about the old 5-in-1 was how cheaply they were made and I am happy to see AcuRite step up and offer a newly refreshed model. The Atlas itself is noticeably larger compared to the 5-in-1. Out of the box is pretty simple to setup and get it going right away. The LCD display is quite nice however there was a pretty big design oversight, the screen does NOT tilt on the base that it sits on. The screen sits on the base at a pretty sharp angle and there should have been some option available to at least tilt back. The LCD screen is a breeze to setup and is loaded with features. There is even a sleep mode that displays minimal information. FYI this screen stays on 24/7 even in sleep mode.Getting the station calibrated and dialed in on the rain gauge is one of the first things I would recommend doing. Finding this information was not easy either. It is not included in any of the manuals and you have to do some searching online! Per AcuRite you must poke a pin hole in the bottom of a plastic cup and fill it with exactly 8 oz. of water. Over a 20 minute span you should get a reading close to 0.61 inches. Also, if you purchase the Atlas + LCD screen like I did from Amazon, at time of writing this review you CANNOT purchase the lightning detector module from Amazon or directly from AcuRite's website. I hope they fix this....So far I am very pleased with my unit, it works out of the box and is easy to install. Just follow the directions and you will not have any trouble. There are other accessories for the Atlas such as a wind extension kit etc. You can also find those items directly from their website.

Great weather station with a lot of features for the money
I've had the earlier 5in1 units for years. This new unit is built much better, is easier to mount, and can use a bigger diameter mounting pole. Has many custom calibration options and extra parameters it reports. The display is true HD, full touch, and can display graphs of any reading you touch. My unit is not having any problems with receiving range and my display is at the opposite end of the house from the pickup on the roof. Amazon has great prices on several packages depending on what you might need or already have. If you have the Access or get the package that includes it it will share data to weather underground. Very nice unit so far and already has some good prices on Amazon.

I thought this problem had been handled :Updated
I knew about the wiring defect that was discovered when they started shipping the Atlas back in 2018. It caused non-stop false lightning strike alerts. I had hoped that by now, that product would have made its way through the supply pipeline. Apparently not.I tested everything in the house before starting the final install. I kept getting these non-stop false lightning strike alerts. They had me try everything and anything before finally admitting that it needed to be fixed. The wording in the final email was 'identical' to the wording they were handing out back in 2018 when they finally figured out the problem..."We have recognized an issue in some Atlas devices where lightning interference, and potentially false lightning readings, are occurring when the device is exposed to sunlight. We have identified a root cause, as well as a resolution. To correct the issue, we will need to get your Atlas sensor back to make the correction. To return the product to us please follow the steps below. We will also send a prepaid shipping label for the return. Please be sure to remove your lightning detector from the sensor before shipping it back to us, we do not need that for the remediation. "I sent ours back. There is no way I am going to pay to ship a brand new weather station in for repair (for a problem that should not exist this long after it was discovered).Having the separate anemometer would have been nice!Update: I looked at all other weather stations out there and the Atlas is by far the best value.Apparently Amazon is sitting on some pretty old inventory. Acurite will, at their cost, return the sensor to them, update it it, and return it to you. In my original review, I was under the impression that I was going to have to pay for the shipping, that was incorrect.Until Amazon clears out their inventory, you might be better off to buy from Acurite directly, pricing is similar.

Disappointing
I've had my Atlas weather station for almost 5 months. The weather station itself appears to be okay, but touch screen display makes the whole package very disappointing (if not somewhat useless). (1) The display has no battery backup. We had a power outage of less than a minute, and it lost all of it's historical data. (2) The main display invariably shows rain total for the last 48 hours. Why not show today's rainfall total? (3) There's no PC Connect, which was present in the AcuRite 5-in-1 PWS. (4) The display write data to the SD card every 10 seconds. That's 8,640 times a day. The weather does not change so fast that you need that many reports. The amount of data is overwhelming. (5) A lot of the icons on the display are placed too close together. It's hard to touch one icon without accidentally touching another.I do not recommend the Atlas. My next PWS will be from another company (e.g., Davis or Ambient). If you have your heart set on an AcuRite, go for the 5-in-1 instead.Regarding the comment from AcuRite Support. (1) You've clearly read what the display is supposed to do, but you've never used it. It can be pouring outside and all I get is "Rain Total - Last 48 Hours". I live in east Hawaii, and we get a lot of rain (almost 200 inches last year, over 60 inches so far this year). (2) All you need is a simple lithium ion rechargeable coin battery to keep the historical data (same as your PC uses to keep it's clock going when shut off). The 5-in-1 display went into a power saving mode when power went out.Since writing my original review, my display failed AGAIN. AcuRite is sending me a replacement; this will be my 3rd display in less than 6 months. Apparently AcuRite has no quality control (despite the "QC" sticker on the back of the unit).

a pleasant surprise
although I was expecting a slightly bigger screen upon opening the box, I have not been disappointed by this nice gem of a setup - speaking of set up, dead simple - 1 out of 10 to get you going. Easy calibration. The display is very rich color wise, highly detailed and nicely laid out - super simple to setup and gives a lot of information (present and past, as well as a cool future forecast). I got this to replace a different Acurite monitor (succumbed to kittens - my fault....) highly recommend it.

Buen equipo
Es una estación muy funcional, solo que la temperatura no cuenta con una precisión tan buena(1 F), el resto funciona muy bien, adquirí dos unidades y de forma general son muy buen equipo., las consolas son excelentes.

Well built.
The monitor is the best available and easy to read from any angle. Colours are bright and the information presented is accurate. Mine didn’t have wifi nor lightning.I learned btw that if someone close to you has the full station with Wi-Fi and you enter their system identifier into an iPhone app; you can monitor your buddies’ station via wifi. This way I get access to nearby lightning data and a second set of readings for comparison. Kinda cool!

Poco confiable
Las mediciones pueden ser no muy presisas pero lo peor es que después de un año de usarlo cuando quise revisar los registros los había borrado todos, la memoria estaba formateada y de hecho ya no la detecta. Un año de monitoreo desperdiciado
