I have tried quite a few brands and types of kibble but none work as well in helping my Bichon to avoid skin problems, particularly itchiness, as this one does. It helps that she really enjoys the taste too.Update: January 2012:Wellness Simple Solution Rice and Salmon is the only kibble that I feed to my bichon. She loves it and I love the way it helps with her allergies plus the fact that she never has any digestion problems. I use to buy the smaller bags because I was concerned about freshness. Before finding this on Amazon, I had to special order it at a local pet specialty store and very often the packages had short time frame expiration dates.After seeing how good the dates were on the smaller packages that I bought from Amazon, I switched to the larger 10 lb,8 oz. bag. I have been absolutely delighted by the freshness. The bag that I ordered in early January 2012, arrived nicely packaged and with an expiration date of July, 2012.I'm happy that not only am I getting a wonderful food, made in the USA, but I can count on getting a fresh shipment too.

Our Chihuahua has some skin problems, redness, always itching and biting at her feet and we were feeding her another premium dog food that is advertised on TV but we didn't realize she had food allergies. This brand of Wellness Simple with only 8 major ingredients is wonderful. All of Sophie's skin allergies have gone away and she loves it. It is cheaper to buy it online than to travel the 60 miles round trip to the only pet store in our area that carries it. It is listed as hypoallergenic because of the limited ingredients. They have a turkey formula, but we went with the Salmon because our old dog food had turkey and we thought that may be one of the irritants. Also we tried BB brand Basics limited ingredient with Salmon and Potato. Should work the same as Wellness Simple right? No, she started itching and redness came back, so we had to give away the BB brand dog food and go back to Wellness Simple. I guess all dogs foods are created equal.

I likethe food a lot, one of my dogs has allergies and this gives him no problems. However, I've had two damaged bags so far so I will go back to purchasing at the pet store even though it's more expensive. Five stars to the product, but -2 for damaged items.

My 9lbs. Jack-a-Poo LOVES this food!!!! We had him on another brand (expensive/exclusive, no gluten etc.) long story short, aside from him hating it, he always ate his feet, ate at his body, his skin was red. To make matters worst, he would get very sick a lot, vomit frequently & have loose bowels. It was horrible. We tried to understand what was wrong. I would nurse him back to health with boiled chicken & finally the vet told me to switch foods. After much research, I found this one... My dog LOVES it! He loves it so much its as if its a treat?! He can't wait for his food. It doesn't look that appetizing but it must be delicious. 😋 No more belly issues & he's not eating his feet & body. Success!

I don't usually write reviews but this is one time I must. I have a ten year old Cairn Terrier and have fed her Orijen dry with canned Merrick one top. Both high end dog foods. In the past year she has been treated twice for a bladder infection. Recently the same symptoms returned, vomiting & diarrhea. Despite treatment she got worse. My vet suggested I change dog food. Still sick after trying N&D Digestion and losing weight fast. She has been on Wellness Simple Limited Ingredients for 3 days now and what a world of difference. Pain free and back to normal. My dog loves the food and I love Wellness for saving my pup!

Our dog does well on this product. We also have a Yorkie on the small breed variety. It has limited ingredients plus Taurine which is mentioned in various articles stating lack of taurine COULD be responsible for heart failure in dogs, as far as I am aware fthis has not been verified. Our Yorkie does have heart failure. Her previous dog food made by another company, also grain free , did not have added Taurine.My Only issue is that the ingredients listed under the product does not match with what is listed on the actual bag of food.

This food is great, my dog can't get enough of it. Our 15 lb terrier mix, Scrappy, has very sensitive stomach issues. We went through numerous kinds of food until we found one we liked. He ate that consistently for several months than had another bout with his stomach. The previous food was also a "simple ingredient" formula, but I realized it has beef flavoring in it even though it was a salmon recipe. Wellness simple is great because it doesn't have beef flavor, which we believe he is sensitive to, and he LOVES it. Plus, he has been very regular since we transitioned to this food 2 months ago. Fingers crossed this brand sticks.
