if you do not have a ground wire in your harness get a loop and connect to the frame.

I haven't put my boat in the water with the new lights on the trailer. Barring a problem at that point, they appear to be a quality light.

THESE LIGHTS ARE NOT WATERPROOF. I purchased these to replace my regular boat trailer lights and one the first launch and reload they both had water in them. One light had only three leds flickering on and off and the other was half lit. Very uncomfortable driving home at night. I took these off and you can hear the water sloshing around inside the lights. Im sending these back in a plastic bag in case the water leaks out and damages the package.

I would have given these led lights 5 stars but mine didn't come with the DOT tape and srews, even thoughyou don't need the screws, I just found some nuts that I have that fit perfectly, be sure to check the wiring becauseit wasn't wired the way my previous lights were. great product and works well.... very bright lightsyou wont be disappointed
