Motorguide 8M0095972 Universal Aluminum Quick-Release Bracket Kit for Electric Trolling Motors, Black Finish

The bottom and top plate are sturdy metal and it does provide a way to easily change trolling motors (you have to buy a 2nd top plate). The latch mechanism is all plastic however and not durable. My first one recently broke. The real aggravation here is that you cannot simply release the latch and slide the motor back and forth. You are going to be on the water when you need to move it forward at launch and backwards at loading the boat. In order to change from the forward to rear position, you have to release the latch, push the motor and top plate to the side, tilt it, move it close to the position (rear is not marked so you are guessing, front is easier because you can align the top/bottom plates), and lower it. You will be on the deck of your boat, in rough water, holding the motor/plate assembly, balancing yourself and motor while trying to do this. Risky, unnecessarily so in my opinion.

I can't see how this was supposed to work with my Motorguide X3 bow mount trolling motor, none of the holes aligned properly,not without drilling. This guy actually trys charging you a restocking when you do a legit return because the item didn't work as expected. He actually told me re read his Sellers Agreement with Amazon. Don't order from this seller!!!

Sent it back. Thought universal meant it would fit all motorguide trolling motors. Didnt work for my xi3. Been 3 weeks and still haven't seen my refund from amazon.

Great mount! Fits Xi3/Xi5, Tour Pro, MK Ulterra/Terrova, Tour, etcLocks securely and allows me to change motors quickly depending on my needs. By a spare base plate for your Ulterra so when it won’t stow you can remove it quickly and run an Xi5 or Terrova.

Fits my old motor guide 730. 2 attatchment screws fit and I had to purchase 2 longer ones and use washers to make them fit.
