Basic reference only
General lookups of fuse locations and torque settings works well, as for any real maintenance then your own experience and judgement will be required as the manual is far off the mark. I only purchased this to locate a specific wiring fault that nobody else could fix (the dreaded BSM failure), however the wiring diagrams are nothing short of useless! with nothing more than general representations of typical circuits. In the end I repaired my fault by tracing wires with a multimeter, pen and paper (now fixed) without the assistance for the manual. For mechanical faults the manual may have some value for specific settings, however when fixing a brake fault the manual didn't match the brake servo fitted in my C4(2005) and was in fact totally different in every way. For me this is a typical Haynes manual which only briefly touches on the basics, for any real faults you will need some experience or access to the google mechanic.I don't think two stars was fair as it can be used for torque settings reference, therefore 3 is all I give it

The new photos are less helpful than the old line-drawings
I've had two Haynes manuals in the past, in the 1990's, covering 80's cars, and they were better than this one. I used them to successfully repair many faults on my old cars, and enjoyed doing it. But my disappointment with this newer publication is that Haynes aren't using exploded line-drawings anymore, which used to properly show exactly how all the components were assembled. The photos which have now replaced the line-drawings only show WHERE components are, and at the low resolution of these black and white photos on the cheaper, coarser paper the manual is now printed on, are not even very clear. According to their 'Degrees of Difficulty' spanner-rating, I would modestly rate myself as a 3-Spanner mechanic with occasional flashes of resourceful 4-Spanner brilliance, and in short, the old-style Haynes manuals with the exploded line drawings, inspired confidence in me to tackle almost any job in the book and take me to higher levels of mechanical competence. But this new style manual with its dark and murky photos does the opposite. I look at the photos, which impart very little useful info, and I think of how I am now older and fatter and less nimble and deft with tools than I was twenty years ago, and I say to myself, "No, I'd better take this to the Citroen dealer to fix". So it's sad that this new style manual now almost defeats its own purpose, which is why I can only award it three stars. I love my car, and I love mechanical DIY, so although I still enjoy owning this book, it will, I fear, spend more time on my coffee table than in my grubby oil-stained hands.

A handy guide to help service the car.
Great to find out where the filters were hiding, good old Citroen ! The photo's are a bit dark, so more difficult to see where things are. Otherwise very happy.
