Shake 'n Bake Crunchy Pretzel Coating
I used this crunchy pretzel breading mix to coat skinless, boneless chicken breasts that I cooked in an air fryer. I cut every piece of fat off the chicken, coated with this mix and then cooked for 15 minutes. The air frying blows heated air around, like a convection oven, and the dry air helps create a crisp exterior, but it can cause food to dry out. And, without any additional fat added to the fryer, I was concerned that the result might be dried-out and stringy, but the meat was moist and delicious with a satisfying crunchy exterior in part because this mix helped seal in the juices.Perfect with chicken, the seasoning is not too salty and definitely tastes like pretzels. The mix created a quick, economical and tasty chicken dish when I was short on time. I will absolutely buy again.

It's addictive and delicious!
This stuff is amazing. It makes baked chicken breast literally irresistible and I end up eating more than any reasonable person would. It subtly evokes the flavor of those big/soft pretzels while creating a nice crunchy exterior for your chicken, trapping moisture and keeping the chicken from drying out. My approach is to cut the chicken into smaller pieces during prep instead of covering a complete chicken breast - not as small as nuggets, but like 1/3 chicken breast. Tasty couple-bite pieces! If I had one complaint, I'd say that their estimate for the amount of chicken you can coat is a bit high as by the time you are nearing the amount they suggest, the coverage will have gotten poor because the finer crust/dust will all be used up. I suppose that may have to do with my prep approach creating more surface area, but I digress...

I was hoping it would be crunchier and pretzel-ier
Well, honestly this sounded better than it tasted. I love everything pretzels- really love them. So, I thought this would be great as I like regular Shake n Bake for pork chops. Well, mine turned out soggy and I ended up scraping it all off. Maybe with chicken it would be better. I haven't actually tried Shake n Bake with chicken before, always pork chops. Oh well.

Husband loves this Pretzel Chicken!!!
The first time I purchased this coating mix was from Prime Pantry. I tell you, my dear husband just loves it so much. And it was super easy to prepare. Please note: there are plastic bags inside the box for shaking up the mix with your chicken pieces. My husband makes sure I always reorder this item from Prime Pantry. I actually love it, too. We highly recommend it! (Chicken comes out the oven perfectly done, per instructions on the box.)

Just ok
Used this on pork chops and it was a little disappointing... I bought 2 boxes so we'll have to try the next one on chicken. It didn't have a very distinct pretzel flavor.

I was so skeptical - just smelled like crushed pretzels
Crunchy Pretzel Seasoned Coating mix from Shake'N Bake? Sounded too yummy to not try. When I opened the packet of Crunchy Pretzel breading, I was so skeptical - just smelled like crushed pretzels. I almost added seasoning, then changed my mind so I could honestly review the product on its own. I was sure I would be disappointed. However, the taste was mind blowingly wonderful.Applied the coating to 4 beautiful, boneless, lean pork loin chops and baked them up. Crunchy and so flavorful on the outside while keeping the meat juicy and flavorful. I can't wait to try it with chicken!
