I Have To Admit having read other reviews on This product I was a bit unsure. I really haven't been able To fault This release. considering past releases of These movies on DVD which have all been good This new Blu-ray release lifts The movies to another level. it should be remembered most of This material dates back To The 1930's I doubt you will ever get a True pristine print even on The Blu-ray format. come on guys lighten up on your reviews. with That out of The way we have The Best Of Laurel And Hardy and yes I would agree with That. The boys need no introduction in These Timeless movies Best of The bunch as To be Way Out West includes The boys rendition of The classic Trail Of The Lonesome Pine The boys had a re interest back in 1975 when The song entered The music charts. This movie olso showcases Their famous dance routine outside The saloon To The stings of The Avalon boys. Flying Deuces sees The boys caught up in The Foreign legion with The usual high jinks assured with Ollie lending his vocal Talents again To The classic Shine On Harvest Moon. The Disc olso showcases Stan and Ollie's original shorts with some of The best They made famous for Hal Roach including The classic Towed In A Hole. ( Fresh Fish ) The boys decide To go in business on Their own catching fish buying a boat and repairing it The stage is set for some of The best slapstick routines ever committed To film. overall The Disc showcases The Best of This now legendary Duo with The new biopic movie soon To be released on The boys This new Blu-ray release once again reminds us of The remarkable Talents of Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy. admit The Disc has mixed reviews Though it comes in at five stars for me.

Beautiful HD transfers of the five feature films but worth noting that two of the short films - Busy Bodies and Towed in a Hole - are only in standard definition and in fact look worse here than the previously released DVDs if you're using a good upscaling player. Definitely worth it for the five feature films though, which finally give a sense of how they would have looked in the cinema.

I like all the different films good content

Marvellous to see stan and olly presented in high def ,although still old films they look sharper and clearer than any other discs I've bought!

I hesitated buying this set because there's so many one star reviews and complains about the picture quality. I finally got this and I was pleased with the picture quality. These are 80+ years old black and white movies! What did people expect? UltraHD digital camera picture? Do people complain because they did not filter film grain away? Film grain is part of the estetics and for me it's a plus they didn't filter it out. Sure, painstaking restoration could perhaps improve the picture a little bit, but for me the quality is good enough. I have never seen these films with this level of quality and if more Laurel and Hardy is released on Blu-ray like this, I am certainly interested. 4/5.

Brilliant

I was hoping these earlier classic L&H films for the first time on blu Ray where restored, but no, Universa have just licensed them to a blu ray format without any thought of cleaning them up and restoring theses gems, the result, certainly better than the DVD versions but with the picture enhancing it also enhances pictures dirt, scratches and the increase of sound impurity’s! It’s bit like covering odours with deodorant! One day the films will be restored and I’d be tempted to wait to purchase those, although blu ray is still better than DvD, pays your money and takes your choice, £20 for 5 films isn’t bad after all.

Comic genius in every film.

These discs come from England and all have a coded warning when the are played, and you have to be in a certain Country/area to view them and they will NOT work in the US. In other words, we can’t even watch these here.
