allows perfect alignment, LOTS of extra hardware included!
Wow this is a GREAT package. It is perfectly straight as far as I can measure, and no rough edges.I'm glad I got this instead of the Incra brand. Incra IMS2 24-Inch Incra Miter Slider The INCRA expands in BOTH directions to fill up the miter slot, whereas this Kreg bar expands in ONE direction to fill the slot. This is actually a very critical issue! With the kreg bar I know that one edge of the bar (I can choose which edge) will sit perfectly flush with one edge of the miter slot (I can choose which edge) and I can use that as my point of reference. With the Incra you have to use the CENTER of the bar and the CENTER of the miter slot as the point of reference. In my opinion, it is much easier to measure from edges than centers. I think it is especially hard to measure from the center of a recessed slot.Realize that with EITHER design, these things really only work when the slot is straight and parallel through the entire length. Otherwise they will all give you problems. Also, I love that all the hardware is included along with spares. It comes with a single sheet of paper instructions that actually make sense! My unit from August 2013 has:Enough black nylon screws to fill all slots plus 3 extra. These use flathead screwdrivers so hex-key is no longer required.More-than-i-need wood screws to attach whatever jig I want to use, fits perfectly in the precut countersink holes in the bar.One large hole at the end that could be used to attach a larger bolt/nut type of fixture. I can see myself using this as a reference point or maybe a hard stop. A short bolt with a nylon acorn nut for this large hole is included.

Good So Far
Lots of good reviews for this product but if you have a standard track It seems to me you should be able to purchase miter rails that do not need adjustments like the UHMW Milled bar which slide great I just had issues with them expanding and binding when I screwed them on to my slide. More on that in my review of them. All of the nylon set screws worked great you just have to make sure that you start them correctly. I put them in with my fingers all the way to the point of not being able to hold onto the last 3/16 of the screw. I did notice that some went in easier than others but none of them took any kind of pressure. So I’m not sure of why there are posts about them being hard to start unless there was a QA issue at one time.I'm in the process of adjusting these and wanted to tell everyone about a perfect tool I found. the Rain Bird Rotor Tool 5000 Screwdriver available on Amazon for less than $5 or just pick it up at your local hardware store. It has the perfect tip width does not deform the setscrews in anyway. If I have any issues with aligning them up on the sled I will make changes to this review. Otherwise it gets a five star for being what it is reported to be but I still do not like the idea of having adjustments screws so that concept removes one star.

Don't waste the time trying to make one, just buy this and be done.
Quick facts about this product:1. Only one bar comes in this package2. Fit per on a dewalt jobsite table sawI'm building a table saw sled that is 2'x4' out of 3/4" Melamine. I tried two separate times to make the rails out of oak. Everything went great until I screwed them to the melamine and it would swell the wood out, causing it to drag while sliding, and I ended up sanding them down so much that it allowed too much play in the track.I bought this ONE and it took 10 minutes tops to install. I thought I should order two rails for it since it is such a heavy sled, but one piece worked great. I cut it to length, and the screws that came with the bar were sharp enough that I didn't need to pre-drill.

Great bars. Almost perfect.
I liked several things about these bars. Compared to the Incra bars, they are superior in many ways. There is one thing I do not like about these bars and that is the countersinked mounting holes. I would rather have a flat bottomed hole so that there'd be no danger of the bar sliding one way or the other when the screw is tightened.Ways I found the Kreg bars to be more desirable than Incras:The bars are also not trapezoidal like the Incra 24" Sliders, so that they can drop directly into any 3/4" miter slot at any point. I think the newer Incras do not have that problem. The 24" bars can only enter most table saws from the very front. This could be tedious with deeper sleds. The kreg bars drop in anywhere. There are 8 set screws or adjusters on the 30" bar. I know the product page says 5. The package says 6. There are actually 8. The incras only have 3 adjustment points. The nylon set screws do not create a "chalkboard" sensation when moving in slots. With the Incra bars, moving aluminum on cast iron is not pleasant. The set screws are more easily adjustable. You turn the screw the tiniest amount, you'll get a predictable amount of expansion. The Incra bars would "jump." In other words, while adjusting the Incra bars, the expansion would not happen gradually on some adjustment points. Also, should the need arise, the Kreg bars could theoretically be adjusted after they've been attached to a sled. This shouldn't happen, but if you change climates and the temps are different enough, you could do it.The 30" Kreg bars are obviously longer than either of the two Incra bars. My sleds are 30" deep so these are perfect. Since there are quite a few adjustment screws, if you wanted to make shorter bars, you could cut the bars in smaller sections and still have adequate adjustability.

Invest in a Steel Bar with a Better Adjustment Mechanism
I purchased this bar for its length because I wanted a solid grounding for a large table saw sled. While it was easy to adjust and worked well initially, I was leery about the nylon adjustment screws, fearing they might abrade over time as they moved in and out of the miter slot.Sure enough, those fears came true after a few months, and though I could continue to tighten them to take up the slack, eventually all this re-adjustment threw my sled out of square. I'm a semi-professional, so the last thing I need in my life is the constant worry that my sled is going out of square, so I pitched it and installed a homemade hardwood runner instead. I live in a consistently dry climate, so I don't have to worry too much about contraction and expansion of the hardwood. In hindsight, I should have done this in the first place and saved myself $30+.My advice: If you want to purchase a commercial jig/fixture bar - unless you intend to use the fixture very rarely - do yourself a favour and invest a few more dollars in a steel bar with an eccentric adjustment mechanism.P.S. Others reviews complain about the bar not being true. I did not have this problem. My gripe is entirely with the adjustment mechanism.
