Lyman Products Ultrasonic Barrel/Gun Parts Lubricant, 1-Gallon

Bought this product here a couple years ago. Sat in my shopping cart a while as the price was steep. Finally pulled the trigger. Have been ultrasonic cleaning my pistols for a while prior to using this product. I must say. Worth it if you clean often. No easier way to clean an auto pistol frame without COMPLETE disassembly. Most water-based detergents do a decent job. Use this after. I bought a cheap Harbor freight cleaner for this lube only. It penetrates, lubes and deep cleans. Gets what the water-based cleaners miss. You'll discover as the part drips dry, additional fine carbon particles seep off the weapon. Hint Leave it to drip dry overnight. The solvent base evaporates leaving a nice protective film. Re use the lube over and over. I filter back into the can using a #2 cone coffee filter and funnel. After 20 uses, oil still clean and new looking.

No one’s paid me to write this review. I say that because I’ve read reviews that feel fake and it’s annoying. I’m a state trooper and I shoot a lot. I don’t pay for ammo and so I shoot more than the average person. I didn’t know about sonic cleaners until a year ago. They are amazing and speed up gun cleaning. I then found lubricants specifically formulated for use in sonic cleaners. I eventually settled on this brand and it work beyond my expectations. It’s a large amount for the price and you can reuse it multiple times. A great value for sure

So you've cleaned your gun in your ultrasonic cleaner. Almost every cleaner on the market is water based and then diluted with more water. You finish cleaning it and use compressed air to remove all (?) the water. Then you spray rust preventive and wipe everything down. But did you really get all the water out? Are all the parts lubricated and treated to prevent rust? Probably not! This is where this products comes in. After using the compressed air, use this in the ultrasonic cleaner. It will reach all the crevices (especially if you just throw the lower received in the machine and don't bother to detail strip) and make sure no water is left behind. The carrier liquid evaporates and you're left with a dry but lubricated and protected gun. Up your gun-cleaning game and get this! (NO--LYMAN DIDN'T PAY ME TO WRITE THIS OR GIVE ME ANYTHING FOR FREE!!)

I don’t like to let water touch my guns so I use this with my ultrasonic cleaner for all parts I re-use it by filtering it between uses or let it settle in a sealed container and let the silt stay behind with a slow pour and then wipe the silt out of the container. I can also use water in the ultrasonic unit with a smaller container in it with this oil for small parts or in a larger ultrasonic cleaner tank.

Not seeing much difference. I think I'd shop this by price and availability. Get whatever one is on sale. Sonic cleaning makes cleaning multi guns easier. I'll take more with me to the desert now knowing it will be easy to break down and put in the Hot Tub when I get home and watch a show. I'll then go down and rinse and lube. Done with 6 rifles in about 1.25 hours now.

I’ve used this product to completely lubricate at least a dozen pistols so far, and I doubt I’ve actually used more than an ounce or two of this gallon. Leaves an almost invisible layer of lubriant on the entire gun and forces out any remaining water from sonic cleaning to totally protect your gun from corrosion. Use a coffee filter to remove any possible contamination from the unused portion and continue using it. I, personally, add a little of my own lube to slide rails and other critical parts to assure smooth actions. I’m a fairly active shooter and am guessing this gallon will last me for years. Highly recommended.

I used this to "deep lube" an old russian surplus pistol that was gummed up with cosmoline. First I sonic cleaned it with some Simple Green Extreme, which made short work of the cosmoline. Then ran it for 20 minutes with this stuff (no heat) to protect the finish and lube the internals.Everything went to plan, and the action is slick now. Good product.

I love this stuff. I use it in a industrial style ultrasonic cleaner I bought for cleaning all my firearms. Have used this after cleaning and it does a great job lubricating all my pistols and anything else I can fit in the ultrasonic that needs lubed up. This has taken the pain and time out of the end of the day of shooting. Definitely recommend this.

Nothing beats an ultrasonic cleaner on a reloading bench. Why clean just brass when it does an awesome job on dies, gun parts, anything metal. But after the cleaning solution has stripped everything off, you need this TurboSonic Gun lube to get into the pores without leaving a dust-collecting, gooey coating of oil on everything. I completely disassemble my rifles and treat bolts, trigger mechanisms, receivers, and now this will complete the process. The only problem is that this lube is practically unobtainium up here in Canada. No gun store, mail order or brick, seems to carry it. Wouldn't you know it, Amazon.ca had it in their own warehouse in Canada at a decent price. Arrived in two days.

A must have if you use an ultrasonic cleaner on firearms, especially the non-stainless steel varieties. Use this sonic lube after the cleaning solution in the ultrasonic cleaner to help displace all traces of water and to gently lube the metal in unreachable areas.
