Crown molding is manufactured with a dense architectural polyurethane compound (not Styrofoam) that allows it to be semi-flexible and 100% waterproof. This molding is delivered pre-primed for paint. It is installed with architectural adhesive and/or finish nails. It can also be finished with caulk, spackle and your choice of paint, just like wood or MDF. A major advantage of polyurethane is that it will not expand, constrict or warp over time with changes in temperature or humidity. It is safe to install in rooms with the presence of moisture like bathrooms and kitchens. This product will never rot. Safe to install indoors or outdoors Will not absorb moisture Is lightweight and durable against average wear Lasts a lifetimeLightweight and easy to installExquisite detail and design consistencyWon't crack or splinter like wood or hard plastic Recommended tools for installation - Nailgun & air compressor (set at 100 PSI or less) - Miter saw - Adhesive - Spackle - Caulk - Tape measure Laser level

Be careful when seaming together
The product looked nice. I painted it before the install but had an awful time making the seams look good. The corner pieces seemed thicker than the straight pieces so they did not match correctly in the corners. I had to sand the back of the corner pieces to make them match.

Difficult for using with LED strip lighting
The quality of this product is good. My project called for using strip lights to be installed behind the molding. The edges for using adhesive were very thin and made it difficult for the molding to stay in place without drilling holes and using nails. Also, the material was quite brittle and cracked if holes were not predrilled prior to nailing.
