Love her or hate her
I read ‘The Splendid and the Vile’ and while reading it discovered the interesting character here is Pamela Churchill , and I needed to know her story. What an incredible life, and master manipulator of people and circumstances. She did what she had to do to survive. Love her or hate her, an incredible journey. Interesting references to Joe Biden, this book was written in the 90’s, Pamela Digby Churchill Tried to stop publication of this book.

Well written, interesting
I thought this book was well written and very interesting. It was done in a respectful manner while telling about some not-so-pleasant traits this very successful lady possessed. Good insight into some historical events, also. Overall I consider it a good read.

Amazing amount of information contained in this volume.
Have only just begun to read this book, I know a little about her from other WWII books. This just confirms what those had to say and dives deeper into events and reasons for her gathering older powerful men around her. She was a very sexual person.

A good read.
Confirms my opinion of Mrs. Harriman that is often said: she was an expert on very wealthy men’s ceilings! But still a good read. I plan to read it again.

Fascinating stories of a woman and the men she collected. And how they embraced being in her club.Only rich men, powerful, of family name important- wow. I wonder if she was happy.Driven, for sure. Enters the action by the side door, on a man’s arm. Fascinating.

She was an amazing woman
I am interested in this period of history. Pamela married Winston Churchill’s son. She had many affairswith men who were older and had to be very rich. She had a fascinating life.

good read
The woman got what she wanted, through men who she seduced. Interesting life she had but she had a lot of people who thought she used her feminine wiles to get power and money.. mostly other women didn't like her. Easy to see why. She valued power and reached for it any way she could. Enjoyed reading.

Fascinating history
A most interesting and entertaining biography of a determined, resourceful woman intimately involved with the movers and shakers of the last half of the 20th century.
