I am very pleased with my purchase and the curls this new curling iron creates. My hair is fine and not thick or thin. It’s length is just below the shoulders with long layers, the shortest layers are about chin length. I’ve been growing out a short A-line bob with blunt bangs for nearly two years and have technically gone without a style all this time. This iron creates the prettiest and softest natural looking curl and is so easy to maneuver around my tresses. My only regret is that I didn’t have this sooner to better conceal the miserable growing out process. I love the length of the wand, it holds much more hair and distributes heat more evenly than my shorter barrel irons. The clasp doesn’t create a crease in my hair either unlike my other utensils. The time to curl my hair is much faster too. Even in a rush I look like I spent quality time on my “do”. Many other reviewers have mentioned burning their thumbs or fingers due to a design flaw. I’ve been using this iron almost daily for the past 2 weeks without incident. I would certainly recommend this curling iron to my girlfriends and daughter!

Ok so I’ve only used this once but OMG! I hope this thing lasts a long time. If it breaks on me, I’ll update my review. When I used it I realized what a good curler feels like. I just had a regular Revlon curler that lasted me for years, but it used to fry my hair a little and my hair would snag on it at times. It also didn’t glide down my hair smoothly. With this SwanMyst curler, I experienced smooth gliding, fast warm up, and my curls lasted alllll day long without the use of any hair product. It felt gentle on my hair too. It didn’t seem to damage my hair at all. Now that I see what a good curler feels like, I can’t go back. Update: 2 years later and this curler is still doing a great job. I’m happy with this purchase still.

I don't know what it is about the 1.5" curling irons...this is the second one (different brands) but the spring they use for keeping the 'hold' portion closed pops off. This time it's because the prongs under the bracket are far too short to handle the tension and they slip out from underneath. Such a pain. Once again, I'm without a curling iron. Pros... heated up super quickly and the one time it did hold, the curls were lovely. ***edited original review 9/18/18: Replacement curling iron has been used 10 times now, and so far the spring is holding up. I'm hopeful. One thing I forgot in original review, this is a nice LONG barrel which when you have long hair is a major asset. I gave back two stars and now have this at a four star.

Due to frequent travel, I have broken two of my old curling irons. Luckily, this one so far seems sturdy. I don't ever curl my hair with a glove but one is included should you need it. The extra long barrel is perfect for my long hair and it takes less time to curl my hair since I can create larger sections. The cool tip with such a long barrel is a must for me. The 1.25 inches is great for looser curls (I don't want to look like Shirley Temple here). It heats up quickly and has a dial for adjusting the heat. I use the lower heat setting which is perfect for my hair. Overall, it's been a great curling wand so far and has been better than my last few curling irons!

I am editing my review. I purchased this curling iron for international travel. Although it did work with the proper adapter, the display did not. So I had no idea the temperature of the iron. I did not use it because I did not want to fry my fine hair. I tried it in several countries and had the same problem no matter where I was. I returned home and the display works. Fortunately, I have learned to travel with a backup and used that one instead. I still think it is a very nice curling iron. It's a little lighter than my previous ones (from different manufacturers) and thus, easier to use. It has quite a range of heat settings, but lots of low ones that work well on my fine hair. The lever is also easier (than previous units) to open and close onto the barrel. It also has an automatic shut-off, which is helpful for me since I always think I forgot to unplug the iron. I now question whether if it is worth the higher price.

This curling iron is absolutely the best curling iron I've ever used. I've included 3 pictures the first 2 picts with the blonde hair is my friend I sent the curling iron with her to our friends salon and look at the results, the stylist said it was better than the one she uses on her clients. The 3rd picture is me (darker hair) I can not do hair at all I have to go get it done at salon when i want it styled, like my profile photo here on the site I had done at a salon, I have bought so many different curling irons and I could never achieve these results, & look at the results that I got. I also have extensions in and look how pretty it curled the extensions. It comes in a beautiful pink box with a glove and 2 clips-what a deal. Now girls watch out it does get pretty hot, but it has not been an issue for me getting burned cause you can wear the glove to help you, or turn down the heat. I like heat highest but I wear a heat protecter spray. Ty so much for the best curling iron ever!!!!!

I read a lot of the reviews before I purchased this curling iron. I saw several people complaining that it did not heat up....mine heated up great. I also saw some that stated the knob to control the temperature was in a bad place.......it locks in your desired temperature so that was not an issue either. I did read that it is top heavy and I used it the first time without stretching the cord all the way out.....it was very bothersome and I thought it may burn my counter. The next time I used it, I undid the cord all the way and it wasn't an issue at all. I have pretty long hair and the longer barrel works great for longer hair. The knob at the top is big enough that you don't have to worry about burning your fingers. Overall, I find it to be a great curling iron and glad I chose this one.
