Pennington Annual Ryegrass Retail Bag to Overseed Warm Season Grasses, 25 lb

I am careful when it comes to recommending grass seed of any brand. I planted this seed in mid October to prevent erosion and to green up my lawn during Winter. Germinated quickly, and my lawn is still green and full in March.

Had a tree removed and a big stump ground. This rye completely covered the area in about a week. Just follow the watering schedule and this stuff grows

The shady side of the house had been leaking from the gutter and turning what used to be grass into a muddy mess. There was also a gravel driveway many years ago, so lots of rocks throughout. I spent a week with a rolling aerator getting the soil loosened up, then started spreading grass seed every day for another week while aerating, then after a couple days of rain and a couple days of keeping it all moist, bam. Bright green grass where there used to be patchy muddy rocky mess. You can still see some seeding that hasn't taken yet, so it should double up the thickness in the next couple weeks. Just need to resist the urge to mow it.It takes some work to grow grass good, you can't just throw it on the ground and expect results.

Took almost 3 weeks to germinate, directions said 5 to 7 days

Used after last hurricane to quickly reestablish my lawn and cover bare spots damaged by fallen trees and other debris. Very high germination rate.

Put down one bag in my backyard at the recommended coverage. Growth was very spotty. Ordered second bag and did it again. Same results. I can see areas where the seed is just sitting and doing nothing. I expected better.

Beautiful grass. Spread evenly because it will grow and you can notice missed spots. So lovely to have gorgeous green grass all winter. I live north of Dallas and it grows amazing here.
