On the Origin of Species: Young Readers Edition

I recommend this book for 'young readers,' which in my opinion for this books is 8th grade or higher, depending on the child. It's also good for adults who want to get the gist of Darwin's book. Really well done.

Great to teach Evolution! Got several books about Evolution for my grandchildren since not sure the public schools will continue to teach Evolution which is based on scientific facts.

Charles Darwin was a great writer. This is a great book. The difference between this book and the original, is that it has a great child learning concept stuck right onto it. -Five Stars on my end.

Found this picture of a bird on page 45 which is also the page that has the start of chapter 4 on it. Anyone know what type of bird this is? I can’t find any pictures online. But 5 stars because the bird is cute

I have a couple original copies of Origin of Species on my bookshelf. and picked this book up from the library. I read it cover-to-cover, and was able to open the original to read relevant sections. This is a very readable version with interesting examples and explanations of the current scientific perspectives. The only improvement would be to change the sub-title to "Readers of All Ages" Edition.

Very nicely done. The pictures and annotations throughout the book are particularly useful. And since it condenses the text by reducing the number of examples that Darwin uses in the original publication to support his arguments, it is much easier to read. A great gift for anyone in the age group of 10 to 15.

I recommended this book for my library. It is one of the 2019 Outstanding Science and Trade books for kids. It is beautifully illustrated as well. Highly recommended.

Interior pages and the the dust cover are damaged and dirty. The writing is a good adaptation and the illustrations are beautiful, but the layout of the interior photos is really bazaar.
