Very impressed !
Antenna was a 1.2 out of the box, adding a choke got me to 1.1, Very little effort. I did use the hardware it came with rather then sliding it inside the mast so I would suggest you do the same. Contacted a buddy who lives exactly an hour south of me on 50 watts and was clear as a bell, but mine is up there and clears any trees so that helps.Yes I would recommend this antenna, shipping was from DNj radio, shipping was fast but we all know usps is shifty.Chris

Damn good antenna!
I bought this antenna and put it up with no tuning. I posted pics of SWR was good nearly across the entire gmrs band. My power output was over 99%. Less than 1% loss. This is a great GMRS antenna. Buy, put up! You will be happy like me! Don't go cheap on the coax!

RT97 repeater
I put a GMRS repeater up for my rural community and went with this antenna. It's quite tall but fairly light weight and sturdy. Several miles away, zero obstructions, my little 1/2" stubby GMRS radios are sounding crystal clear. Hoping it stands up to some abuse over the years but I see no reason to expect otherwise.

1:1 SWR
Using this antenna for a GMRS repeater at my house and it works great!

Perfect GMRS repeater antenna
I saw mixed reviews outside Amazon. Some said this antenna was great and others said terrible. Not much middle ground. Shipping was fast and packaged securely. I did an initial test retevis 97 to antenna with short cable and SWR was 1.01. After a window pass through coupling and 50 feet of cable it was getting 1.00 SWR. This is the best home antenna for GMRS I have found.
