Portable Gas Burner

I got this as a birthday present for my wife. Unfortunately, no sooner did we go to use it did we discover the locking mechanism wouldn't work correctly. After taking the butane canister out we were horrified to discover a busted off screw and multiple pieces of busted off plastic knocked loose inside the locking assembly! The lock wouldn't hold at all! The tiniest amount of gentle force from your pinky finger could easily disengage the lock! On top of that, ANOTHER piece of metal then fell out from between the controls and the canister compartment! We promptly returned this item for a full refund! Besides that, you can get these things for nearly half the price as this one, and some you might not even have to pay shipping on (check your local Asian stores or Chinatown if you have one).I've been a customer of Amazon for years and this is the first purchase where I've been completely dissatisfied. This is also the first thing I've ever had to return. I sincerely hope it's not a sign of things to come.

The stove worked fine for a while. Then, the butane wouldn't burn inconsistently followed by the canister not being able to be seated correctly. This evening the stove quit working completely. I purchased this November 21, 2012. I've used butane stoves for years as they're my main source for cooking so I know how to use them and what not to do. I'm sure that I received a defective item but I don't see this as the sellers fault. It happens. Take this with a grain of salt because you're more likely to get and I hope you get a decent product. Unfortunately, my experience was not good.

It's hard to beat this item for convenience and functionality, and the molded case it comes in is handy for when not in use. I took one star off for two reasons: the first is that the fuel canisters are expensive and hard to find where I live; also when simmering at very low temps a good gust of wind can put the flame out. (I use it on the stern of a cabin cruiser - even though I'm at anchor, my conditions might be windier than most users)

Product has a very nice carrying case and is up to the quality of portable gas stoves used to make omelets to order at temporary café omelet workstations.

An EXCELLENT product! I use in the kitchen besides my regular electric cooktop and take it along in its' convenient case when doing cooking demonstrations. I bought a second Grillex Portable Gas Burner but unfortunately, it came with a slight dent on the side cover so I cannot close it completely when putting in the gas canister unless I tape it down. Disappointed in that respect. Otherwise, it's a good product.

THis item works very well both indoors and outdoors. I use it for outdoor parties inb conjunction with my grill. Our cooktop is electric so having a gas burner is very useful for gumbos, chili, or stews.

This stove is very high quality. It makes plenty of heat to operate a all american 25 quart pressure cooker very well.

It's great as a portable burner.
