Decent phone mount, with a few caveats
The unit has adhered well to the inside of the windscreen of my car, and has not budged. The swivel mechanism seems to loosen over a short time, possibly due to the weight of my Samsung Galaxy 5 phone, so the unit seems to rapidly move to an unintended angle. Also, the weight of the phone in conjunction with the placement of the included metal plate, situated between the phone and case, is probably an issue in the magnet not being strong enough to make sure the phone stays grounded to the unit.A lighter phone and placing the metal plate on the outside of the phone case could help the issues I am experiencing, but I can do nothing about the weight, and prefer the aesthetic of an unsullied case.

good but has issues
it has a magnetic swivel head that constantly moves when you go around corners. you turn to the right, the top of phone turns to the right. You turn to the left, the top of the phone turns to the left. I have tried to use toothpicks to hole it in place, did not work, hopefully crazy glue will prevent it from moving. I want to place the phone in the position I want it, I don't want it moving around. Good concept, except for the moving swivel magnetic head will not stay put.

Needs some work
After some modifications, it works great. My phone, (HTC One), is quite heavy, and the magnets in the cradle did not hold it properly, even with the large mounting plate that is meant for tablets. Once I purchased stronger magnets, (neodymium rare earth magnets), it was able to hold my phone. I would think it would be impossible for this device to hold a phablet or tablet. On the bright side, the cradle mounts very securely to my dashboard, and it actually takes some effort to remove, so I'm pretty confident it will stay, even during warm weather

Nice & Compact
Compactness is its asset. With its compact size, this product is definitely a better choice if we want a professional look in our car replacing the clumsy look of old fashioned-long stalked-bulky dashboard mount. Most liked part is, easy hold-and-remove of the mobile. If we want to use a I-pad or touchpads the we can reverse the head so that the object does not hit bottom of mount. On the downside, if we are putting the metal plate inside the mobile case, then the magnetic power becomes less and there are chances object falling out itself during large disturbance. Better to stick the metal plate outside the case if your really not worried about the aesthetics of mobile. The other major downside is, if the dashboard is rough or when the surface if not plane enough, the mount does not stick at all. For example, I have a Lexus IS250 2009 model, where the dashboard is rough and cannot find a planar surface. So found it very difficult to mount on dashborad. In these cases we need to mount on windshield and again due to the provision of gel pad, it leaves behind a smudge on the glass.Overall a great product for its price.

Not a permanent solution!
I chose this magnetic mount over one with a cradle thinking it would be easier to grab my phone and go. But the magnets didn't work when just placed inside my Samsung Galaxy S4 mini's cover, so I had to stick it to the cover. It worked for about 5-6 weeks, then the magnet fell off the phone's cover and left a sticky residue. Also the unit itself fell off the windshield a few times (in cool spring weather). The magnet fell off once it got above 80 degrees outside. So I'm trying one of the cradle types and so far am much happier with it.

Stick it on the windshield, not the dashboard.
My device is a little different than that described in some other reviews. I got the mount, the arm that attaches to the mount, the magnetized head and two magnetized plates that have static film on one side. Peel off the film to reveal the adhesive and carefully position on the back of your phone case--NOT the phone itself because that adhesive is strong. The first time I installed I put it on the pebbly surface of my dashboard. It seemed to stick fine, but after a few days in the sun I found it on the floor. I used paint thinner to remove the bits of dust and debris that it had picked up and this also made the rubber cement-type sticky surface more adhesive again. Put it on a corner of the windshield (not in the driver's line of sight when driving obviously) and it's working fine now.I had previously tried a similar product with an expandable claw that grips the edges of the phone and like this much better. There's just the right amount of magnetism so it sticks instantly in place but is easy to remove.

Only OK
The magnetic portion that holds the phone works great. It's the mounting in your car that is an issue. The manufacture put some packing material on the suction cup to help but it doesn't solve the problem that all phone Mansface. Every time you take a turn more than 5 miles an hour, the mount comes undone. I think I'm going to try two-sided Velcro tape and see if that works. Again, the phone mount portion is fantastic; easy in and out of my car.

it works but to what i wanted it for.
magnet not strong for S3 with a case have not tried it without one. Case i have is Aduro Shell Holster Combo Case. which is a lot thinner than my other case which hardly held. So the metal plate i put between the case and phone it held but when i hit bumps on road the phone slants to one side. its even worst when i leave the charger plug into it. i leave the charger plug in so i can use my gps on my phone and dont like to readjusting the phone on the magnet.
