Piggle

Currently studying psychodynamic counselling and this book was a refreshing change to the usual books that I have been reading. I enjoy Winnicott's style of writing and reading his verbatim style notes from these sessions with a little girl who was his patient were fascinating.

Good to read about Winnicott and his little patient. A bit dated now though.

Wow! This book is very interesting the first couple of chapters in readings I thought it was wired but really sad and must read to the end.

this is a fascinating account about the psychoanalysis of a young child from the age of 2+ to 5; the move from a very disturbed toddler who has to refer herself as "the piggle" to an integrated self-reflective 5 year-old who can use her own name, is easy to read and absorb, unlike many such psychoanalytic texts. Winnicott explores with delicacy the unravelling of the Piggle's problems and should not ever have needed to defend his description of this work as psychoanalysis.. A must read for every Child Psychologist

Very outdated method of psychoanalysis, poor little girl, I was glad I was not his client at that age. Bit of a must read though if you are studying Winnicott to see what went on at that time.

I really enjoyed this book and intrigued by the immediate referencing and application of Freud's understanding of the id and ego. Honestly, I wasn't able to make the connection every time and, at times, the connection surprised me. Will need to read again.D.W. Winnicott had wonderful patience and a kind heart towards children. I would enjoy reading more of his writing as appreciation of his time and training.

I keep this little book around to be able to give to my students of psychoanalysis. It is a classic and a wonderful, brief example of the work of D.W. Winnicott.

This is a illuminating account not only of a little girl but of D.W. Winnicott himself, the master analyst.

Winnicott's repport is so sensible and still valid today. I'm na enthousiast of his work and his ideas.He is very updated
