It really extended the safe grip my wife needed to get up the steps to the RV without fearing for losing her balance. Really was tickled to see you could lock it in the extended position to keep it from being accidentally closed while you are inside RV. I gave it a 4 because my wife wanted black and it only came in a stainless steel finish. But on Stromberg Carlson’s site I was able to purchase a great easy to install grip sleeve to mute the steel finish. I highly recommend and it fit exactly in the same holes since the factory bracket was Stromberg Carlson

Very strong and will go right in place of the factory assist handles installed by most RV manufactures.  Stromberg Carlson AC530 Hand Rail  The only thing I would like to see changed is the top part of the rail where it attaches to the bracket is to make the straight out part about 2,,maybe 3 inches longer before the bend. Then it would clear the RV door lock handle on most units.

This rail adds extra protection against falls. I had to drill four additional holes for mounting; but it is sturdy.
