Helped me so much!
I bought 2 of these to use on a 15' + bar with very heavy drapes suspended from bypass rings. For years, I had to struggle to open and close them, having to pull on the fabric as well as the rod. Sometimes the rings would overlap each other and get tangled and I'd have to go get a ladder to fix them. Once I installed the tape on the top of the curtain rod, I no longer have any of these problems. The rings don't get tangled, and I don't have to pull on the fabric. It's almost effortless now to open or close the drapes! I can't believe it!It probably took about 20 minutes for me to install the tape on the curtain rode (I used two 8' tapes and did not use any of the wedges because my bar didn't have an extension). It was very easy to do. The hardest part was getting the rings over the tape, but I'd say this was just tedious more than difficult and I was able to get one ring over one at a time. It was so worth the effort!!

Forget using the wedges
We have circular metal rings on a expandable metal pole and the rings would get caught on the expansion joints, so we bought the tape to see if it would allow the rings to easily slide over the transition, and it did, it also has the benefit of making it a little quieter when you open the drapes, since you don't hear metal on metal scraping. They give you small plastic wedge (visualize a ramp), that you are suppose to put down first near the expansion joint so it travels smoother from one level to the next, but in my experience getting it cut to the right level just did not work, the wedge did not provide a long enough transition, so the rings just got caught up on the shim. I used some of the slide tape to create a long transition and bring it up to the height of the expansion joint, then taped the length of the pole over that point and that worked much better.

Curtain slides WORSE!
I applied the "slide tape" (3/4" x 8') on a new 1-1/4" metal rod. New curtain was medium weight with metal grommets. This product made pulling the curtain MUCH MORE DIFFICULT, with grommets hanging up everywhere. I am guessing the product does not work the best with grommet style curtains. A waste of $20. Will be tearing the tape off and disposing. If you review all the rating summary, only about 50% of reviewers rated this product a "4" or "5". That should have tipped me off. Hopefully this review helps you.

Slides Really Well
I bought several Curtain Slide Tapes to put on certain of our curtain rods that have always been difficult to slide the curtains on. It was pretty easy to install, maybe took 5 or 10 minutes per rod. I was very impressed by how well the curtains slide on the rods now. It has made a huge difference. I even bought an extra one to use on a closet rod in one of our closets that has an old wooden rod. The hangers always hung up terribly on that rod, but now, they slide back and forth with ease. The curtain rod installation was about 2 months ago, and going well. The closet rod was a week ago, and is also perfect. I highly recommend the product.

Curtain Slide Tape...the Solution!
Unbelievable is all I can say about the difference this tape makes. I had drapes made with heavy blackout, energy saving lining for 3 large windows. Black iron rods and rings. I found it so hard to close and open them and hooks would come off rings from pulling to close them. I ordered this tape to try for 1 window to see if it worked before ordering for the other 2 windows. It was easy to apply and works great! Drapes now open and close easily and quietly. This product IS the solution!! Ordering 2 more rolls today.

Disappointed.
Better than nothing but my curtains still hang up on the rod and do not glide smoothly. The electricaltape I tried worked just as well and cost a lot less.

Helped but not great
The tape was hard to apply when the rod was hanging up with curtains on them already. They glide a little better, but not as good as I expected.

Probably the Best Product for this Application
We have a difficult application--a fluted wooden curtain rod with extra long and heavy drapes on rings. This product works very well if you order the correct width for the application and follow the installation directions. The product is heavy duty and handles the job of opening and closing the drapes very well. Before installing the slide tape, it was a royal pain.
