This is a wonderful book. It is so well written and a great homage to Anne Vallee, who was an extraordinary woman with unique passion. Anyone who loves birds, the North Pacific Coast, and nature-writing in general will not be able to stop reading!

It really is a beautiful book. It take's you to a remote island, makes you familiar with tufted puffins, common murres, cormorant and other birds there. The writers mind wonder's in the loneliness, finds connections, stories and mysteries of our world. Viehättävä, kiehtova kirja.

I live in N. Van Island and am familiar with the coast leading out to Triangle Island but the author has brought in much detail in the history, and in the intricate balance in nature - detail we often don't see around us. Her personal portrayal is very warm.
