Really not bad for the money.
Purchased a reconditioned 24,000 btu LG AC that was missing rear guard. Somehow LG has a picture of the rear guard in their exploded parts manual, but no part number. So after 3 weeks of not finding my original part, i purchased this rear grill guard. It is light weight aluminum and can be bent easily. Must be screwed onto your AC sleeve at 4 corners. A little smaller then rear face of my AC but covers enough to protect condenser fins from damage. Slide your AC out of sleeve a few inches as to not run drill bit into condenser tubes when drilling mounting holes in sleeve. Also check and use short enough screws as to not puncture condenser tube when you push AC unit back into sleeve. It is OK if screw fits into fin area between condenser tubes.Really not bad for the money.

Sturdy perfect for our wall AC
I had an old AC that crapped out. I had an AC from an old apartment that was like new but the one that crapped out was a window unit and needed a sleeve to hold the replacement. It was a bit of a struggle getting the old unit out but the sleeve fit perfectly and it's working out great

Worked as expected, NO INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS!
I used this sleeve for a new LG a/c I installed for my parents. There were NO INSTRUCTIONS for instillation! Reduced rating for that problem. It took me a lot of extra time and stress determining how to install it on my own without instructions. Here is what I came up with... GIRL POWER! (LOL)I filled the bare wall hole with more wood to snugly fit this a/c sleeve near perfectly and screwing the sleeve in place to the wood on the top and side of the sleeve only, just incase the bottom collects any water. I did not want water to leak through screw holes I create into the wood or wall, incase any water happened to get in there, because I have no idea how these things work! I used foam spray insulation, which dries like a rock, everywhere between the wood pieces and the a/c sleeve to keep critters out and to add additional support; which it did both wonderfully. Thank goodness I wore gloves because I made a huge sticky mess on my hands and the can and a couple other places. But, this was super worth doing for those reasons. I think the sleeve is now in so solid AND I will easily be able to remove the new A/C someday and replace it easily into this sleeve if I ever have to again. Yay for me!It left a lot of room around the a/c when I put it in the sleeve; however, the foam padding provided with the A/C filled the space ok. I imagined the fit would be much better than the differing brand Lowe's had offered online to go with the a/c unit I had ordered, merely because they were both LG brand. I think I was wrong and the fit seems no better than the other brand would have been by the dimensions. In the end, I think I will buy more of the foam liner/filler for better insulation purposes between the a/c and sleeve as I only had gone around it once. I think twice will improve insulation. I will say, the sleeve use is as expected; the a/c fit in it and the foam padding fills the space around it inside the sleeve just fine. I did install the sleeve with a small posterior downward tilt and used paint stick shims which i screwed through with the wood I added to fit the sleeve into. So, I did not need to use the hard foam under the a/c that was provided with for the purpose of providing the necessary a/c tilt. My A/C also came with a front trim piece that surrounds it to hide the wall fit; however, I reused the custom wood frame from the previous a/c and placed the small plastic trim included over that, so I cannot say whether it covered the edge of the sleeve or not. Sorry I should have tried that for benefit of review. I'll check that when I go back to add more foam insulation, calk and paint. I will take pictures of what I did and update soon as well, since there are no instructions, and hopefully that might help someone else who buys a sleeve without instructions.

My A/C is smiling with its new grill
Looks good when installed. Yes, the material is thin, but that is good, because it lets more air pass through for the condenser coil -- more air can pass through the bent fins than if the material was thicker. Once all the screws are in place, and the grill is up on the wall, where no one can get to it, the thickness is not an issue.

Very fragile
Like it looks nice dislike its Chinese made so you know it's cheap. Fairly easy to install no complaints just wish it was sturdier.

Sleeve is fine
I purchased this sleeve with the LG1237 A/C heat unit to replace an old unit, so the hole was already in wall. The sleeve was solid enough. The instructions are very minimal, leaves you to guess a lot. The LG unit is a VERY tight fit into this sleeve. And the unit sticks out about 5 inches from the wall. And that's with the unit pushed all the way back to the grill. When the compressor runs, the unit/sleeve causes a rattle. But the sleeve didn't seem flimsy to me.

Easy to determine the right size and easy to install
I bought a small through the wall AC unit for my studio but it didn't come with a sleeve. So I entered the product number and 'through the wall AC sleeve' and it popped right up. Dimensions were right and the install was aided by a pattern that was included to make cutting the hole in the wall exceptionally easy.

Works, but very poor instructions, and needs significant hacking to reduce rattling noise.
Worked to mount an LG LT1236CER through-the-wall air conditioner, however, the instructions were minimal to say the least. It just said, "attach to wall" with no hardware, no brackets, not even any holes for screws. Once it was in place, the AC unit rattled and was obnoxiously loud, despite the sleeve being mounted solidly and according to the instructions. We disassembled and tried again: 1) remove the included grille from the back of the sleeve. 2) Add the LG stamped aluminum grille, with foam weather stripping purchased from the hardware store between the grille and sleeve, to reduce rattling in the back. 3) Two aluminum channels that the AC unit sits on, added rubber strips to these purchased from the hardware store. The plastic bezel, added foam strips purchases from the hardware store. Now the noise level is high but livable. It took a couple trips to the hardware store, about an additional $30, and a couple times disassembling and reassembling to get this thing to work.
