This is absolutely useless as an HDMI to VGA converter for laptop output to LCD monitor input. You need an active converter to change the digital HDMI signal to the analog VGA signal.Why are these cords even sold? Unless you have a built in converter from whatever signal source you're using, then the signal will not even be sensed by the receiving device.Make sure you know exactly what your uses are for the cord, and the requirements for HDMI/VGA signals between your two input/outputs.

5 feet of cable fun

Seems to not work with my tv. But it is what i ordered. Really need a newer tv.

I didn't read the description good enough. This is for digital output via the graphics cards vga port to plug into a monitor with onlu HDMI connector. I was wanting to go from HDMI to a monitor with vga input. This does not convert the digital video to analog. Dumb me!

Cable does not function, this product is a waste

As far as I know I plugged it in correctly to more than one device and it did not work. Disappointed, but luckily it was cheap.
