Simple navigation aid.
Excellent for beginners and experienced navigators, handy pocket sized item.

Get a proper Romer
One of the most frequent uses of these cards is to plot an accurate 6 or 8-figure grid reference on a map, for which a clear set of numbers and subdivisions is essential on the corner scales for speed and precision. Unfortunately these corner scales lack this, the 1:25,000 (for the widely used OS Explorer maps) being particularly poor, marked for distance rather than grid and then marked only at 500 metres and 1Km. The 1:250,000 scale has more divisions but still insufficient (and tiny) numbers. Nor is there a hole at the corners to allow a plotted grid reference to be marked onto the map. There's some useful stuff for beginners on the crib cards, but overall I'd advise people to get a proper Romer instead. There are plenty of better, sturdier and much clearer ones available.
