iPad Mini 1/2/3 Rugged Case, Survivor All-Terrain Case Plus Stand, Black

I purchased this case to go along with an iPad mini for our 10 year old as a Christmas gift. He is pretty good with his gadgets, but I wanted something that would protect it, just in case. He has used the iPad in the case exclusively since he received it 8 months ago. It does seem to protect the device well. It has had its bumps, etc and there has not been an issue. My son is not hard on his devices, but occasionally there is a drop.The downside on the case is that the openings where you plug the charger into, and where you plug the headset into, have degraded and fallen off in a matter of a few months. The opening for the camera cannot be opened easily and I have to use a little screwdriver to get it to open in order for him to take pictures. The front cover leaves a gap in the lower right corner that makes touch more difficult. You have to really press hard to get it to register the touch on it.I am giving this 3 stars because it does protect, but the pieces are falling off with not a lot of use and some of the functionality is hard to use because it doesn't seem to fit right. I would probably not purchase this again because of the downsides I listed. I am shopping for a new case that will work better.

This is my second case for my iPad. The first one was a cheap $10 case from china. I liked that one at first but within months, the silicone sleeve was slipping off and becoming too loose. I decided to go for a more expensive but hopefully more durable case. I was, honestly, unimpressed with the case when I ordered and later received it. However, it is everything I want from a case. It offers the protection I need and the material is such that I don't worry about it wearing out. And i did drop my iPad...it was in perfectly fine. It can go with me to work without me fretting about the hazards of the outdoors or my occasional inattentiveness effecting its lifespan and performance. I'd buy it again in a heartbeat.

I bought this to protect our I pad mini from my toddler. Little did I know it really needed protection from me. As I was driving down the road I heard a strange sound, looking back I see the iPad in th e middle of the road. I had left it on the roof of the car. I busted a u to try and tescue it pulling into the median. I cringed as I watched it get run over twice! After I was finally able to get it I was more than surprised to find the iPad was ok, not a scratch or Crack on it. Even the case it self is in good shape not to many scratches. It did land face down which I think helped it not to Crack because all of the presure was on the case and bot the screen. If you need a mommy and toddler proof case this is the way to go!

I purchased this case for my new iPad Mini 2 based on my experience with the original Griffin Survivor for my iPad: It's probably the most rugged case made for these tablets, and as far as I know, the only one that meets Mil-Spec standard for shock and water resistance. This smaller case feels just as rugged and protective, and is significantly easier to install- although curiously, mine was lacking instructions. All you have to do is make sure you completely disassemble the case into its three component parts. Place the iPad in the inner plastic case, and stretch the rubber outer case over. Make sure both the iPad screen and the clear cover are clean and dust free, and snap the clear cover on. Takes all of a minute to do it.

I got this case originally for my son a few years ago and it had held up!! It’s been dropped I don’t know how many times and the iPad is still in excellent condition. When we bought my daughter an iPad I knew this was the case that we needed!!My only complaint is that it is super hard to put on and take off- which is great I guess cause then the kids can’t take it off and the iPad is safe!

Ordered directly from Griffin, which I prefer supporting a local company.My son already has this same model on his iPod for years keeping it safe, so this was a no brainier for the iPad. It has a screen protector that clips on at both sides and top and bottom on the plastic frame. It seems easier to clip on starting at the top middle clip and working down the sides and the bottom last.Its easily as durable or more durable than the $90 Otterbox and less than half the price!(I actually got it on Cyber Monday very cheap).The kick stand is an accessory, and at this time no idea where it ended up, it works fine, but something extra to carry along so it has got little to no use.(which is no big deal)

As a new product, was disappointed the the clear face cover had a few scratches, but otherwise, the case is great.

I recommend making sure your LCD is 100% clean before putting the front plate on.When using the mic, My family/friends tell me "I can't hear you" or "Your sound is muffled"This is 100% due to the case. The only way to solve this is if you have a headphone/earphone which has a built in mic.

Overall great protection for drops, however the built in plastic screen protector and detachable stand let this product down.Screen is not flush to iPad and have to push it down to press screen. Very annoying.Dust and residue have also managed to get inside even though it’s meant to be water tight??The stand isn’t attached to case, so it falls off when you pick it up, difficult for younger kids to put on to iPad as it has to align to raised case section. not the easiest stand to ‘open’ out to prop on table, the stand is made from poor quality plastic/joints compared to the rest of the cover.The little ‘flaps’ to close over charger port, volume buttons etc also pull off easy - wouldnt recommend this product. Not child friendly.Didnt even last a few weeks before I replaced it.

If you need something seriously tough for your Young child or if you want to use a small iPad on the go outdoors and in all weathers this is wipe clean , knock it about and don’t worry about it. It’s a great buy to just stick on and forget about. It works perfectly.

Afraid the rubber flaps that cover ports are a bit flappy and after a while of use by kid they come off. The build in plastic screen protector is very cheap feeling as well

The case arrived in good order. It could do with some instructions but I guess I worked it out eventually. The kick stand is just about up to the job but this is a minor part of the product. Overall the case is well built and certainly gives the impression that it will protect the iPad mini. Time will tell.
