Cabin Fever: The sizzling secrets of a Virgin air hostess Paperback – April 20, 2014

I admit that I eventually purchased this book titled Cabin Fever; The Sizzling Secrets of a Virgin Airlines Flight Attendant by Mandy Smith after seeing some details on the author being featured in a Daily Mail Uk article. I’m very glad to have done so because the author bravely does not hold back from exciting details of her professional and personal life once she became a flight attendant. She covers her romances, including a pivotal one in the beginning of her flight attendant career, her romance with an Australian pilot, all the way to her marriage with her soulmate (I understand her excitement at meeting her husband because my husband and I mutually feel the same way about our lives changing for the better after meeting each other). Anyhow, Mandy Smith also recalls some of the celebrities that she met (such as Robbie Williams, Courtney Love, and more). Last, but not least, she also includes some of the parties and festivities that involved her life as a flight attendant (and information on what is was liking working in a company with Richard Branson as the boss). This book may ruffle the feathers of some because Mandy Smith does not hold back on how wild some of the people that were her first class customers. In her defense, I would not be surprised if less than 20-30 years from now, there are also more male flight attendants who publish tell alls on the romantic escapades that they had with fellow employees and first class customers (wild heiresses written about by male flight attendants who use name aliases?). Any material in Cabin Fever by Mandy Smith would also make exquisite plot material for a movie or tv episode because of the intricate details she describes in her workday, interactions with other employees, juicy details of her romantic life both as she was training to begin her flight attendant career and after, as well as details on some of the places that her job took her too (such as her take on her travels to California and New York).

I thought this would be more about stories of the passengers. Unreal the sexual encounters all of the crews experienced in their travels!

This was entertaining to read. Interesting to get a peek into the life of an Air Hostess. I enjoyed it.

That book will give you a better sense of what being a stewardess was like than this drivel. Yes, i said stewardess and that’s because Coffee, Tea or Me? was written in the 70s IIRC. At least they talked about the planes! As others have said, the first chapter was reasonably interesting but it just goes downhill from there with her “These are all the places I’ve had sex and the men I did it with” trope. Don’t waste your time or money.

At first I thought this was a parody. I knew people like this existed but, en masse?I’ll keep this short as most all the critical reviews sum up the book for me.When one’s priorities in life rarely, if ever, venture from the superficial, I shake my head in disbelief and wonder ... Is there hope for us?If so, you won’t find it here.Sorry, I had to give this one two stars—-my lowest rating ever. I usually give at least three for the effort. But I couldn’t find enough redeeming qualities within the book’s pages to do so ...

This was an interesting book about the life of a Virgin air hostess. It includes a candid look at a time in the aviation history that most probably won't come again. Crew hijinks, camaraderie, fun and not so fun times are included, as well as lots of sex and shopping. It also touches on the dangers and downsides of constant travel as well. I read this book using immersion reading while listening to the audio book version. For all the relationships she had, she is fortunate to have her happy ending in good health.

Virgin air must be a fun airline. This book is 20 chapters long and they are snapshots of various moments in the protagonist's life. A life that is full of many relationships and some really strange moments. I enjoyed the book.

This book is mildly entertaining. It was interesting to hear stories of events of being an air hostess; however, this book is mostly about her love life.

Loved reading this! It was an easy and fun read and I found it highly entertaining. It was my dream to be a flight attendant since I was a little girl and that never happened so I loved reading this book to get an inside look to what it's really like. I couldn't help but notice that some of the stereotypes of flight attendants seemed to be true according to this author. I don't think I'd have the "stamina" to be a flight attendant now!!!

Loved this book. It's full of hilarious, and some times cringe worthy, stories. Only wish it was longer... A must read

This book is based on more airhostess life rather then CABIN.
