The tried-and-true Gypsum Construction Handbook is a systematic guide to selecting and using gypsum drywall, veneer plaster, tile backers, ceilings, and conventional plaster building materials. A widely respected training text for aspiring architects and engineers, the book provides detailed product information and efficient installation methodology. The Seventh Edition features updates in gypsum products, including ultralight panels, glass-mat panels, paperfaced plastic bead, and ultralightweight joint compound, and modern specialty acoustical and ceiling product guidelines. This comprehensive reference also incorporates the latest in sustainable products. Review: Must Have for Drywallers - Also known as "The Bible" among interior contractors. - I work for a drywall subcontractor as an estimator for Multifamily Projects. I've worked in construction for about 7 years and in that short amount of time I've seen countless changes. Whether it be products, project design, or software, technology and the introduction of a new generation of workers is pushing the industry forward at a breakneck pace. Codes and "best practices" are always evolving and handbooks like this are a great reference tool. Unfortunately, the architects responsible for designing the project, in my opinion, are overwhelmed by the advances and do not always spec/detail their projects with the correct materials or assemblies. So having a guide like this handbook gives me the documentation to explain why a certain condition is not ideal or just not appropriate. Review: Virginia Contractors License - Great Handbook. Read the entire book for Virginia Contractors License, Alot to learn.

Great gypsum bible
Pretty much an industry bible, great for research. It is also available online, or at least it was at one point. I like the physical copy myself.

This is a book published by a drywall manufacturer. ...
This is a book published by a drywall manufacturer. It should be free and probably is if you get it through a distributor. It is not an unbiased review of gyp board technique but it does have a lot of information.

Good overall information but print is way too small.
Would give a 5 star review if the print was bigger. Finding hard to read.
