Great value and a quantum leap for me
Update:- I spent the weekend having a good play and can confirm that 16 minutes per battery is just about achievable. The best thing for me is the simple controls. I'm used to hovering with me controlling the power, however here it uses its built in barometric sensor to take off, land, and hover where you put it. The more I play the more I am enjoying. Really managed to get into the X-Drone app too, and that can do so much! Final point, after reading the instructions properly, is to note that there is an SD card slot (never noticed it) so that you can record video/photo's if you don't have your phone connected or are out of range. Excellent value for money and the more I explore the more there is to like. It's early days so far for me with this. My only other drone is a home build (geek alert). It was more of a teaching project but the outcome was great. I bought this to see how things have moved on, and wow! For the price you get a lot for the money. The cost of some previously high end features has really come down. I had return to home and could strap on a Go Pro but in the space of a few years the capabilities are amazing. So far I'm only at test flying stage, fiddling with what amounts to be many options. They live streaming for me is the best feature so far. The simple mount to attach a phone works very well and is reasonably sturdy (but I'd still be careful). The controller is reassuring and sturdy in your hands, and has defined features laid out and labelled well. I'm used to a bristling controller with far too many features but this is a delight to play with.Connection to my phone via the App was nice and simple. I'm a fan of reading the manual first, and with something of this price I'd definitely recommend it. The manual is very well laid out and takes you through the first flight process, including connecting the controller, calibrating, and using the various features.I'm having a lot of fun (as are my kids watching the drone cam). So far I've tested the return to home and it works so well, GPS hold is solid in a stiff breeze, follow me is a little jerky but ultimately works. I haven't tried the tricks yet, but that's for this weekend so I'll report more then.Battery charging is nice and simple, but it's good to note that if you have a balanced LiPo charger the connectors are standard. The battery packs are bespoke but i suspect you can probably use an off the shelf LiPo of the same dimensions. I'll try one of my spares at some point and let you know. The included charger works perfectly well and I've managed to get a good charge from my car as it's USB driven. Charging is pretty slow but battery life when flying is on the money. A fairly aggressive flight (lots of climbing fast, throwing it around, GPS etc) gave me 12-13 minutes of flight on a fully charge so I think 16 minutes of "boring" flying would be around the 16 minutes. Swapout was in seconds and it was back in the air.The battery warnings for the drone and controller are clear and obvious on the handset and give plenty of warning (based on voltage) to get you back down safely. The drone comes with everything you need, including spare props for the inevitable breakages but from what I can see you can replace them with standard fitting hobby shop ones too. I usually fly with carbon props so I might try some on at some point.I think this is classified as entry level but the features packed in to a package like this is very competitive. Then only point to mention before you buy is image stabilisation. This won't provide a gimballed super smooth drone shot you see on TV. The footage is surprisingly smooth but you can see the buffets and correction tilts. Don't let that put you off though. This thing has impressed me.

Outstanding Stylish Item
When you get this Drone, you will immediately know that you have an outstanding quality item. It is packaged extremely well. You will notice on the front are a pair of eyes similar to a Bugs Drone, which one I don't know. These eyes give it character and personality. If a Drone can have these characteristics?!It is very well built, sturdy shiny plastic, not substandard in any way. I comes preassembled, just put batteries in the controller, download the app, and your good to fly. The batteries take just over 3 hours to charge not the 5 as stated. But I must stress that it is imperative to read the instruction manual as it is a bit confusing to even get this in the air.I took it for a short test flight and to say that I was amazed is an understatement, it is phenomenal. Hovers perfectly, very stable and extremely responsive. I'm yet to work my way around all its features, like follow me, point of interest and do stunts.I would say that this says that it has a range of 550 meters, which I'm yet to experience, however if this is exactly the same as a Bugs Drone, then the range is more like 800 to 1000 meters. If you do decide to buy this I guarantee you will not be disappointed and have many rewarding fun flights to come. This is my second full size drone and will compliment if not exceed my Syma X8Pro which has an electronically positional camera.Once again go for it and be outstanded by the quality of this Drone and the high altitude (responsibly though - remember the Drone Code) photos and videos you will take.

Nice looking 1080p drone with GPS
This is what I'd call an entry level drone but it gives you a lot for your money. It has GPS, barometer, a 1080p camera, brushless motors and not to mention an extra battery. It's a very sleek looking drone with a very nice colour scheme. The batteries are proprietary and slide into the back. The drone has not got an on/off switch so you only push the battery in when you want to start the drone. Be careful of leaving the batteries in for storage (not connected) as they can easily fall out. There is a lock to keep them secured while in use.It doesn't come with prop guards and I'd advise not flying indoors particularly in small rooms (even I ended up crashing once).GPS. I found this very quick to pick up satellites and I get way more than the 7 needed to establish a home point. I was getting 16 plus in most cases. The GPS system works very well and holds the drone in position. The flight on the video was conducted with a fair breeze but the drone held nicely.Return to home was pretty accurate. In the few cases I tried it was within 1 1/2 metres of its take off point.Barometer. This worked pretty well for most of the time but if you are going full speed forwards then you do need a little upwards thrust to maintain altitude as it does tend to drop a little on occasions.Camera. On the whole the camera was very good and in particular given the price range of the drone. Photos tend to fare better than video for reasons I'll go into.It is a fixed camera angle so bear this in mind when setting up your shots.I think it's a fairly fast shutter speed, so even in the breezy conditions I was flying it still captured reasonably sharp photos.Colour on the photos varied between adequate and very good depending on the angle to the sun and skyline angle etc.The lens is a wide angle so you do get a little of the fish eye (curved horizon) effect. If that bothers you then there are various photo editing apps that can correct that.Videos suffered from lack of gimbal as does every other drone in its class. You need to be spending several hundreds to get a gimballed drone. On a calmer day no doubt it would have coped better, and to be fair the video would be ok for social media but certainly not professional work but then you don't buy a drone like this for that reason. The flying characteristics are very good for it and I never felt out of control. It has a good turn of speed and a good yaw rate and coped well against the breeze. It's ascent rate is impressive and you are soon up at height. It's descent rate is a fair bit slower so you have to factor this in during your flight.I never intended to range test it but I did inadvertently take it out to 325 metres where it lost signal. It was only shortly after that I realised I'd committed the cardinal sin and not adjusted the controller antennas properly. The drone went into return to home mode and shortly afterwards I could see the distance on the controller coming down as it was returning. It's good to know that works!Auto takeoff and landing. Both work well and as expected and on landing came down on target even in the breeze (GPS mode).Special modes (orbit and follow me). Whilst I initially thought the orbit mode was struggling, I only realised after reviewing the footage that it was orbiting the launch mat/stuff bag rather than me (slaps forehead). This it actually performed well. The follow me was also efficient but I suspect that if the subject was moving quickly it may struggle. You also need to make sure that the subject has a high contrasting colour to the surroundings to give the camera a chance to 'latch on'.Battery. These are 7.4v 1800 mAh and are stated to give around 16mins of flight time each. You need to take into account linking to the phone as well as calibrating so that will eat up around a minute of time. I'm getting around 13 mins in the air and that's flying for a little while after the first stage low battery warning. The batteries are proprietary and as yet I've not found any spares. They take around 5 hours to charge but if you have a hobby charger you may be able to get this time down a bit.The brushless motors are a very welcome feature on this drone and as well as giving you plenty of power also means you don't have to allow a cool down period between batteries. It's also one of the quieter drones I've flown. All in all for it's price range and as long as you are not expecting professional grade videography it is a capable drone and good value for money.I've a video of my experience here but I've uploaded a more detailed and higher quality one on Youtube.
