Recording King ROS-7-TS Dirty 30's Series 7 000 Acoustic Guitar, Tobacco Sunburst

This is my second Recording King. I have a few other brands and some have greatqualities but for great tone and great playability I love Recording King.I can play them for hours without strain or finger pain. Of course Ihave done a little set up and put on 10s as I always do on all my guitars.I bought a 2nd one to make sure I will always have one in case they become rare.I know they contain a lot of plastics or non-wood material but they sound wonderful.Love Recording King.

It’s obviously not going to be super high quality at this kind of price, but this guitar is built like one of those kids toy guitars from Wal-Mart. Literally unplayable past the 12th fret. The strap pegs are not even screwed in, they pop in and out.The neck was severely twisted, and the truss rod was not affective, trying to get it straightened out.If you’re looking for a cheap folk guitar this ain’t it. Check out Gretsch Jim Dandy Parlor guitar, it plays well and is built much better than this, but at the same price.Super disappointed because I am a fan of Recording King, but this specific guitar is shockingly bad.

Firstly, the color isn't the pretty vintage tobacco burst you see in photos; it's more red/orange and not very attractive. The fret "inlays" are painted on (badly) also. The one I got needed a neck reset badly and wasn't really playable. The sound was thin and "cheap". My wife and I own a music store, so I can assure you that there are a lot better guitars in this price range.

I feel compelled to write a review for this, as I love these 000's and own more than one. The Dirty 30's series of guitars harkens back to catalog guitars of the 1930s and 40s. The painted inlays on this guitar are true to those guitars that they're made to emulate. They sound and play WAY above their weight class and are perfect for any Old Time/Folk/Indie player. Love the color, fit, and finish of these. ESPECIALLY for the price! Less than 200 bucks!!
