Filipino Homestyle Dishes: Delicious Meals in Minutes [Filipino Cookbook, Over 60 Recipes] Review: Lots of pictures, great recipes! - This is a perfect cookbook that beautifully brings out the beauty and delicious flavors of Filipino cuisine. I'm actually happy that it doesn't have all the "exotic" stuff such as dinuguan, goat meat stew, paksiw etc. It's presented in a modern, slightly Americanized way which I think is proper for filipinos and non filipinos alike. I love the pictures! Very beautifully done. Review: Great cookbook for Filipino dishes! - There are so many different versions of filipino dishes, but this cookbook is really great for the basics. If you haven't learned from your grandma yet, the recipes in here will definitely hold you over until you get a chance to visit her. Or if you're not filipino and you know filipino food is delicious, you should totally get this and impress all your friends. The instructions are incredibly easy to follow and all the recipes have pictures (I hate cookbooks without pictures). There's also some brief history of filipino cuisine, which I found really interesting.

Delicious
This is a nice and quick read on filipino food. It is by far my favorite. I will caution that some ingredients are difficult to find, so substituting might be necessary at times.

filipino cook book
All recipes are easy to cook and authentic. Pictures of dishes are great. I have a Filipino friend and she says that this one is the best out there for homestyle Filipino dishes. I had loaned my first book to a "friend" because she was always raving about the recipes and she never returned it. I had to replace it and was glad to find that Amazon carried it.

OK
The book was lost in transit during a move after I purchased it but I wasn't terribly disappointed. Could not quite picture the recipes materializing on my dinner table. I love Filipino food so maybe it was just me.

This is a great cookbook!
I attend a Filipino church, and have tasted many Filipino dishes. This cookbook faithfully reproduces the food I have come to love. The recipes are easy to follow and if you so desire can be tweaked for a personal taste preference. I highly recommend it!

A good getting started book to cooking Filipino foods.
This is a nice little cook book with pictures of each recipe. Pictures may look different to how Filipinos cook it but this shows an alternative on how to present your dish, a new look on how local Filipino foods are presented.

Every recipe has a picture. Easy to follow. Good explanation of ingredients in front of the receipe book.

This was my first Filipino cookbook which I bought to find everyday type recipes. This book is absolutely perfect for that. The dishes chosen are the best known and really tasty. The recipes are easy to follow and the pictures show how things should look! There is even a very useful section on dips and relishes. The format (wire bound) is ideal as the book stays open athe required page. I would very much recommend it as a first step, especially for those unfamiliar with Filipino cuisine. I was encouraged to buy a second book 'Fine Filipino Food' by Karen Hulene Bartell which is a little more adventurous and wide ranging but lacks pictures of the finished dishes so is good for those more familiar with the food.

Quite simple to follow recipes. Have tried a few recipes and they're okay. Not as flavorful as I hoped they would be without some tweaks but good as a base for traditional recipes.

It's good that this book contains images of the food, so you know how it should look, but it does not contain as many recipes as The Philippine Cookbook, which is what I recommend - The Philippine Cookbook
