Can I brew the hot tea?

Description says that it is made of heatproof glass, but generally putting glass through wide range of temperature change in short time(1seconds) is a bad thing. I would brew the tea in the cookware used to boil the water then wait 1-2 hours to cool it down in temp then pour it into the bottle. The bottle is awesome with care they last a long time. I own several and oldest one goes back 24+ years.

is it dishwasher safe?

Yes it’s japanese Pyrex but I like the same brand either with a glass handle or with no handle at all at 1000ml myself I only use it for cold brew loose leaf tea in the refrigerator and keep topping it off with more water until there isn’t enough taste and start over

What color I the handle?

The color of the top and the handle will always match. So white lid comes with the vessel that has the white handle, etc. It allows you to always designate a specific color to hold a specific beverage if you're into that. Additionally, it allows you to keep the correct top with the correct handle (not that this matters, because they are interchangeable in the same volume-size vessels.)
