Kylie Jean Hits The Spot! π
WOW!!! This might be one of my favorite Kylie Jean books!!!! I would recommend this book to someone who likes queens and blueberries! I would also recommend this book to someone who likes competitions, sparkly, queen tiaras and working hard. One of the reasons I gave this book a five star rating is because I β€ blueberries! Another reason is Kylie Jean is funny, sweet, and, beautiful. The lesson I learned from this story was that if you work hard on something you can do it!!π -Lily Clifford

Cute Kylie Jean
Kylie Jean is a series of chapter books for girls. If your child loves reading Judy Moody or Ramona Quimby then these books will keep your child's attention. Kylie Jean loves taking part in any competition going on in her school or in the community. The books also shows how close Kylie Jean is with her family especially her Ugly Brother the dog...and don't go telling him he's a dog...lol!Kylie Jean makes kids believe that no matter the task if you keep practicing you will be better at it. If you are looking for a good chapter book to start your child reading then I recommend Kylie Jean series. Check out the study guide and cooking recipes at the end of the book.FTC Disclosure: I received a review copy of this book from the author in exchange for a fair and honest review. I was not monetarily compensated for my opinion in any way.

Blueberry Queen
Move over Junnie B, there's a new girl in town! Delightful and charming, this is a perfect read for the "tween" demographic (7-12 year old girls). It is fast-paced and adorably illustrated. This book tells the tale of Kylie Jean, an optimistic little girl who dreams of becoming a beauty queen. When she discovers the opportunity to sign up for the "Miss Blueberry" pagent, the registration process is confusing for little Kylie Jean, so she enlists the help of her cheerleader cousin, her grandparents, her girlfriends, and even her dog(Ugly brother). This story delivers the message to young readers that with a blend of perseverance, family support, and belief in yourself, you can achieve your goals. This book has it all...even a glossary, discussion pages, and a recipe for blueberry pie!

Absolutely Adorable!
Kylie Jean wants to be a beauty queen. As a matter of fact, she's wanted that since she was little biddy. She's not even a little sure how to make that come true until she remember that her town has a Queen for it's Blueberry Festival. With her dream well in hand Kylie Jean asks for the help of her friends and family to complete the requirements for the pageant. She must have a sponsor, an entry fee of twenty-five dollars, a recent photo, posters, a recommendation letter, a three-hundred work essay, and her own transportation. That doesn't sound too hard - Kylie Jean has a plan.

Fun and upbeat & young girls will love it!
In this installment of the series, Kylie Jean sets her goal on winning her first pageant and becoming Blueberry Queen in the local blueberry festival. She asks her cousins, neighbor, friends and grandparents for help and surprises her mom with the news after her application is submitted. Kylie Jean is a lucky girl. She is surrounded by loving and supportive parents, brother, extended family, friends and has a dog who understands her so well. With a writing style ideal for readers who enjoy Ivy & Bean and Judy Moody the story easily flows from chapter to chapter with lovely illustrations sprinkled throughout. This is such a fun upbeat book and girls in grades 2 and up will love it. See my reviews for other Kylie Jean books.

My eight year old daughter LOVES Kylie Jean
My daughter devours these books like no others! I read them as well to assure appropriate content. Along with an adventurous style, Kylie Jean is also a very respectful girl. She expresses love and gratitude for her family. She respects the elderly and cares for animals. She is also a very confident girl who, along with her friends, follows her dreams in ways only little girls can.Let me add a couple of caveats that may make some Moms decide to skip Kylie Jean, depending on her particular value system. Some Moms don't want reading materials that focus largely on beauty and Kylie Jean books are very oriented in that way. The books do focus on her aiming to be a "beauty queen". Additionally, that version of beauty is very oriented toward the larger culture of our society. My daughter is not European, for example, and we do not want her to believe that blue eyes, long curly brown hair and being as skinny as a toothpick are the only ways for a girl to be beautiful. There are images of Kylie Jean in the book and, as you can see, her waist is extraordinarily tiny. Some Moms may be fearful of this because it has been shown that the presentation of certain images to young girls is correlated with eating disorders down the line. Personally, my daughter loves these books so much that I believe it is worth the time and effort for me to explain to her that Kylie Jean's way of being beautiful is not even close to being the only way.Let me add for the strictest Christian Moms that the "Pirate Queen" book, while awesome, is focused on a Halloween event. I know more than a few families that do not celebrate this holiday for religious reasons and they would not want to get a surprise when they open a Kylie Jean book to see Halloween celebrated.I realize that, as wonderful as I think these books are, I am being very critical of them. I really want to offer a review that can best help all kinds of Moms and address any concerns they may have before making their purchase.
