The School Counselor's Book of Lists

As a school counseling graduate student this book has been an excellent purchase. I have the 2nd edition (2010) and have not had any trouble with resources being out of date. I have used this book to reference the ASCA model,information for high school students & post-secondary options, and information to assist grieving students. I know that it will be even more helpful as I head into my internship next year. I highly recommend it for both graduate students and school counselors. This book is actually one that my professor brought to class suggesting that we purchase because it is such an awesome resource for school counselors, especially those just starting out.

I bought this book to help in one of my guidance counseling classes and found it to be helpful in many classes. It is precise and to the point. I like it very much and intend on using it in my CSCP.

I first saw this book at the ASCA National Conference and picked up a copy as soon as I got back home. This is a valuable tool for school counselors, graduate students or teachers. Blum does a great job of laying out the basics of what every school counselor should know on a wide range of issues from 504s and IEPs to depression and groups. Her text to practical and to the point.While this text should not be looked to as the definitive text on school counseling, it is my go to starting point when a colleague or I have a question. I highly recommend this book.

This was helpful for my Foundations of School Counseling class in Graduate School. Wasn't the main book, but it helped.

We haven't used it much in class yet, but it seems like it has good tools to use for counseling.
