I have a young whippet and when we go camping in our campervan, we put a harness on him and then use a line to clip him to the van. This gives him freedom to move around, but stops him from running off. However, he has a nasty habit of chewing his leads, so I bought this one instead, as being steel wire, he can't bite through it! He weighs about 14kg and this seemed the perfect size and weight for him. With the dual swivels, he doesn't get tangled up and the it doesn't knot itself up, like nylon one does.This has given me peace of mind that he is secure and can't chew through it, although I should have perhaps got the slightly longer 5m one. Having said that, this does enable him to get in and out of the van and move around quite freely, without being able to disappear around the front or back, either.

You do need a ground spike, but I already had one. I had to replace my cable as it goes tangled in lawn mower blades. I forgot to lift it! I have a large dog who is retained by this very well, in an open area of the garden. She can otherwise get through the hedge to the road.

This is brilliant for camping. I just hook it round a picnic bench or tow bar and clip it to my dog. He can't bite through it and it's long enough for him to move around.

I purchased this for my miniature schnauzer for when we’re away in our Motorhome, does the job.

Good but can be dangerous if caught around your dogs legs.
